Tools and Hardware Reviews of Lux TX9000TS Touch Screen Seven-Day Programmable ThermostatCustomer Review: Programmable Thermostat Summary: 5 Stars
I purchaed this item after reading that having a programmable thermostat saves you money. Why heat the house when your NOT there? I turn it down to 55 degree's at 9PM. Then it turns itself back on (heat) at 6AM just before I get up. That way the house is warm for a short time until I leave the house and wife does as well. Then it turns heat down to 60 degree's for the rest of the day until 1/2 hour before I get home. Saves money for sure! Since Consumer Magizine reccomended THIS particulat model for screen size to see, and easiness to program AND install. Took less than an hour to take old one out, and new one in. GREAT MODEL to purchase!

This is my second one. The previous one is running excellent.
Pros: Easy to install if you color code the wires properly; easy to set up and program; lets you program the 7 days of the week separately and morning, day, evening and night separately - thats 28 different settings! You can actually take the unit off its base, sit on your couch and program. Pretty accurate. Large touch screen display that lights up at the push of a button. Warns you when to change the furnace filter. Sleek design.
Cons: The printed instruction manual that comes with the unit is a piece of junk! You wont be able to understand anything reading that.
Customer Review: Great thermostat... if large. Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this thermostat to replace a programmable Honeywell unit that was the same price, and had many of the same features, but was inaccurate when it came to maintaining temperature. This Lux is easy to set-up, easy to take off the wall and replace the battery, and has many features the Honeywell did not have. I like the seven day programming, and the touch-screen. I do wish it displayed the room temperature and set temperature at the same time, though. Also, I am not fond of the switches that control heat or cool and fan mode, but it's a minor issue as those controls are not used often. Overall, it's a great thermostat.

I could not have made a better choice. Quality is great, ease of installation is a plus and it is easy to use.
It took about an hour to install and my wife had it programmed in about a half hour.
Consider printing out the installation manual prior to getting the unit. It was mach easier to read than the manual that comes with the unit.
I recomend this unit to anybody. It can accomodate almost any combination of heating/cooling.
The instructions are simple. The main thing to remember is to mark your wiring before you disconnect your old thermostat.
Customer Review: Great Product. Simple to install & Easy to use. Summary: 5 Stars
Ordered two of these(I have two AC units) from amazon.com based on consumer reports, and other reviews here.
Installation was really very easy, since this unit is the same size as my prior (non-programmable) unit, and I could reuse the same mounting holes.
Just followed the instructions for wiring that came with this unit & turned off the breaker for the AC units when installing it.
Programming the units was easy and very intuitive using the touch screen display. All included, it probably took me 1/2 hour per unit to complete the install.
Highly recommend it!
