Tools and Hardware Reviews of Lux TX9000TS Touch Screen Seven-Day Programmable Thermostat

Customer Review: stable control and easy to use
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this thermostat after reviewing Consumer Reports to replace a programmable Ritetemp which was about five years old. The heat control has been consistent and even for which we're all happy. The back lighted display in numbers large enough for my senior mom to see day and night with a push of button has been a boon and settled more than a few arguments. The programmable system is easy to set, use and has been working well. I wish we got this one the first time around instead of what was available from Home Depot back then. It was worth paying the $25-30 more for.

Customer Review: Works as advertised
Summary: 5 Stars

My wife and I recently bought our first house and noticed right away that it didn't come with a programmable thermostat. I spent maybe 2 weeks researching and realized a 7 day programmable thermostat was what we needed. There were 2 options I narrowed it down to: Honeywell and Lux. The Honeywell was over $100 and seemed to be the choice for most people, but I read a few reviews and ended up going with the much cheaper Lux model that pretty much does the same.
Installation was a breeze and programming it was just as easy. We are very happy with our purchase so far.

Customer Review: Great !
Summary: 5 Stars

Ok, I chose this thermostat because Consumer Reports rated it the best. The sale of it to me was for the best price I found and all went well with receiving it. I love it !! It is simply the best thermostat, and you have to love the touch screen. Also, here in my late 40s, my vision is not so keen without reading glasses, but, this thermostat has LARGE, easily read numbers and symbols...can read as passing (not run and get glasses !)...love it !! The programmable settings, and the easily read instructions make life so much easier ! Clearly the best.

Customer Review: Excellent Value
Summary: 5 Stars

I chose the Lux over Honeywell for their value and design. The display is large and simple to read. Menu controls are self explanatory, and installation was a breeze when I replaced my old "Chase" thermostat. The only drawbacks I can see are the flimsy lower door and the not-so intuitive temperature adjustment. Instead of the competitor's simple up and down button, you will have to press the display temperature in order to find out what your set temp is or to display the scroll bar. Other than that, the unit is attractive and elegant.

Customer Review: Excellent!
Summary: 5 Stars

This thermostat is exactly what I was looking for. Easy to install once you figure out where each cable goes. I had to review the manual several times before I figured out how to connect it. My old thermostat had 6 wires in total which contributed to the confusion.

However, once it was connected... the rest was pretty simple. Programming is not as difficult as I thought from reading past reviews. Quite simple actually once you figure out the programming order.

The thermostat also looks great! What more could you want?
