Gotta say hands down this is probably the most loved flashlight i have ever had. it shines super bright but illumination isnt the real reason anyone would or should buy this. its an excellent security tool. in all states this should be legal as it is classified as an illumination device untill used otherwise. and its excellent when used as other purposes
the only con i have is that the endcap is not metal, i dunno why when the rest of the flashlight is superstrong aluminum and the endcap is some sort of plastic im guessing. its not so much a bad thing as just an annoyance. i havent had it break nor expect it to but i would of really liked that part to be metal as well.
edit: contacted the company, they assured me it is indeed metal endcap. sorry for the confusion

I've owned one of these for almost 10 years now. It is the best flashlight I ever purchased. I bought it when I was in college and worked as a Student Auxiliary for the college Police Department. My flashlight has suffered a great deal more then most flashlights can handle. It's been dropped, run over, used as a hammer, used to pound in tent stakes, constantly taken on road trips, I can't even remember all of the things I've done to it. All I can tell you is it still works. To keep it working well you should occasionally apply a small amount of Vaseline to the threads to keep the threads and O-rings lubricated. If you do this it should last you a long time.

This is an excellent light, which I mounted in my car with the MAGLITE Mounting Bracket (also of exemplary construction). It is quite bright, well-constructed, and rests easily on the shoulder when held in the hand. It was an unparalleled $25 when I bought it, and absolutely worth that pittance. I wrapped around it a good length of duct tape and electrical tape, and thus made it a dispenser of each.Customer Review: 6 Cell HEAVY Duty Maglite Flashlight

This is one HEAVY flashlight and all that Maglite advertises. It can double as a lethal weapon also. You can dial what width of beam you want to almost a pinpoint. I understand why so many people in Alaska or rural areas and hunters use them. You can see for close to a mile with the 6 cell and I don't think I could carry anything larger. I feel very safe with it when I am out at night and at my farm. Very much worth the money and I will probably be getting a couple more.Customer Review: Pay a Few More Dollars For a Maglite!

No matter what size flashlight you prefer to carry or keep in your home/car, BUY A MAGLITE. They come in all sizes, and for a few dollars more, you are getting a flashlight that will survive anything and work when you need it. Trust me, you will make your money back in the long run. I only feel cheated because all of my maglites will outlast my lifetime. I'm going to have to leave them to someone in my will.
