Tools and Hardware Reviews of MAGLITE SP2209H 2-AA Cell Mini LED Flashlight with Holster, Gray

Customer Review: 2nd gen better than 1st gen led mini mag
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this flashlight.
I have several regular AA minimags, 1st generation led mini mag and now a 2nd generation.
The 2nd gen is a vast improvement on the first.

First, its brighter than the 1st gen.

Second, if you quickly turn it off then on again, then it dims to save power, blinks, or blinks SOS.

Third, the 2nd gen is shorter then the 1st gen though still longer than the original. I dont know what they were thinking, but the 1st gen had a longer barrel/body with a tail cap that lacked the keyring hole. It was longer because the tail cap was longer at the inside threading and held a longer spring so the barrel/body had to be longer to accommodate it, but I really didn't see a purpose to do that. It was just wasted space. The 2nd gen has a tailcap that is identical to the original minimag, which allowed me to replace the tailcap with a push button on/off switch (made by niteize) that i originally had installed on one of my other minimags.

Mini mags are durable and led bulbs uses much less energy so it can stay on for much longer. Its a great combination.

Customer Review: Maglite catching up
Summary: 5 Stars

Maglite is finally catching up with other flashlight manufacturers with these new LED lights. This is a very bright flashlight and when you use it in the darkness it shines like a reflector and you feel like there must be a much bigger powerplant hidden somewhere in that small package. The light can't be perfectly 100% focused like the other regular Maglite flashlights, but I'm still amazed how close they got, which makes this stick out from other LED flashlights which usually don't have any focusing options. To do this they increased the reflector (head) size so this feels just a bit bigger in your hands than it's older AA brother. Still, with the amount of light it sheds, it is a top performer.

Customer Review: Dropped in two inches of dirty bilge water and still working!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have always been a fan of maglite flashlights. I purchased the mini led one and have been sastisfied with the performance, brightness, and rugged characteristics so far. I work in a ship yard and I depend on my flash light every day when I am doing through hull inspections on boats we Haul and Launch. The other day I dropped my light in a bilge and was sure it was a goner. When i opened other hatches on the floorboards I could see the light shining in the water. Pulled it out, cleaned it off and it works fine. I would suggest purchasing the Nite ize swivel stlye holster if you are a belt carrier. All in all great light in a small package. Buy it!

Customer Review: Excellent instrument
Summary: 5 Stars

What can I say? It's a flashlight with a brain. It has a very intense beam. It can be used at 25% power to conserve battery power, plus it monitors energy use and automatically adjusts for optimal efficiency.

It has a blinking mode and an SOS mode built-in for those times when you need something more than a simple light source.

I comes with a holster and batteries, so at the price and the performance, I'd call this item a real steal and a definite must have.

If you have a first generation mini-mag, you'll be blown away by this technology.

Customer Review: Bright and tough, no more broken bulbs!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought several LED Maglites this year. The Mini 2-AA LED (this one) had already been dropped several times and hasn't even flickered, the light is very bright and the batteries last(over 7 hours on the Mini, and not even beginning to dim yet).

I also bought a 3-Watt 2-D cell LED Maglite (from a local store), and it throws brilliant light a considerable distance. The 2-D LED Maglite also was not phased by being dropped, even though it fell some 15 feet onto concrete. The housing was slighly dented on one edge from the impact, but no other damage occured.
