Customer Review: World's Best 3-Cell Flashlight!

I've owned several Mini MagLites --some for decades-- and they really do last forever (except for the bulbs & batteries). But all previous models used incandescent bulbs & I've been waiting for Mag Instrument to bring out LED models. I found this 3-cell AA with a 3-watt LED this past July and I LOVE IT!!! It's noticeably brighter than their 2-cell LED version and FAR, FAR brighter than earlier incandescent versions! In fact, in the "candle" mode my 2-cell incandescent bulb is too hot to touch/hold for more than a few seconds, while the 3-cell/3-Watt LED bulb can be held indefinitely! (Yet the 3-cell LED version blows the incandescent version away in terms of its brilliant-white brightness!)
No, it's not cheap! But the LED itself should last as long as the warranty ("lifetime") and the battery drain should be MUCH less than in the old filament bulb design. I like mine so much I've ordered 4 for the men on my Christmas list, reasoning 1) that a guy can always use another super bright, ultra-compact, "never-fail" flashlight for a glove compartment and 2) every time they use it, maybe 20 yrs from now, they'll remember I gave them this extraordinary "stocking stuffer"!
PS: Don't waste your money on the many cheap LED knock-offs on the market that don't focus the beam & don't control the current into the LED!!!
