Rare earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet currently made. They are amazingly powerful for their size and have innumerable uses. These disc magnets are 0.375 inch (9.5mm) diameter and 0.063 inch (1.6mm) thick. They are magnetized through the thickness. They are composed of grade 40 neodymium iron boron magnetic material and are plated in nickel-copper-nickel for a shiny corrosion resistant finish. Their individual pull force is approximately 2 lbs. Customer Review: Great power, compact size, worked perfect for application!

A little background. I purchased a 2003 Triumph Speed Triple 955i last year. The speed sensor was put in backwards in the front wheel by the last person or shop who worked on it. As a result, the sensor was cracked. When the front wheel was taken off to put on the new tires, the sensor came out in about 6 pieces. The replacement part was about $200 from Triumph. Doing some research, I found a cheap alternative. Using a speed sensor from a Suzuki GSX-R, I made my own working sensor.
The only thing that was left to do was getting rare earth magnets that were powerful enough to trip the sensor. I placed 4 magnets as evenly as possible onto the left front brake rotor and epoxied them into space. The power was great. They worked perfectly. The only difficulty I had was getting them seperated from each other. At that size, it's difficult to do sometimes, and they stick to everything and anything along the way. The packaging they come in is great though.
Highly recommended if you need small magnets. All 40 were in perfect shape. None broken, weak, or warped.
