The featured butterfly mechanism attaches the gas lift to the chair. This mechanism handle controls the chair height (46-49 inches) while a tension control mechanism expands your comfort options. I bought this chair and was immediately impressed with its form. It's nice and sturdy and the fiber cloth is super soft and pads my elbows well. I work from home so I need a kickass chair. This chair is exactly what I was looking for.
As a personal note, after purchasing this chair, I noticed there was a slight wobble at its based as I slightly leaned back on it. Suspecting that the chair was defective (lucky me), I emailed the support @ martinfurniture.com. They sent me a completely brand new chair to replace my defective one, no charge. I'm completely impressed and satisfied with this product.
