In the last six months, we've had about seven break-ins in our apartment complex. The police are doing what they can with an MO that includes knocking on your front door and if you don't answer, it gets kicked in. This prompted us to buy these door bars and we're very happy with them. They were easy to put together and easy to maintain. This product is great! My landlord said that we could not install any locks on the door to the apartment. We only have a deadbolt that the landlord has the key to. This worried me when I slept at night so I bought this product. This is a fine product that is sturdy and will insure that no one can get into my dwelling without me knowing. I bought two of these when my husband let me know that we were moving to a high crime rate area. While (thank god) it has not been real life tested, it has been tested by both my husband and father. I had both of them outside trying to break down the door. I am glad to say it kept them out. For those people who live in an apartment where they're not allowed to modify the locks on their doors, or not allowed to add a security chain or other device, this will work for you. Easy to use, and I had my 6 foot tall son try to get in the door after we had it in place, and he couldn't budge it. A good security item at a reasonable price, and it works!
