This is a nice toliet seat and it really seems to be well constructed. The color of the picture is possibly a little darker or redder than the seat actually is but it matched well with the color of my bathroom cabinets which is called "Honey oak".
Solid wood but it is layered somewhat like plywood which will make it extra strong. I loved the hinges-very clean and simple.
The only thing that prevents me from giving this a 5 star review is, as another reviewer mentioned, the size of the center hole. It is a bit smaller than what I am used to seeing. And sorry to be blunt, but I believe that is why I have noticed a bit more urine backsplash than normal on the underside of the seat. It extends over the inside rim more than other seats so it is more exposed to more splash.
But it cleans easily and I believe it will last quite a while.

We normally like wooden (oak) toilet seats, but the moderate price ones begin to split at the seams after a couple of years. This bamboo one has the look of tree wood and looks like it will last a long time. It also looks like it won't stain like wooden ones sometimes do. I didn't give it five stars, because after all, it's just a toilet seat and does nothing more than an ordinary toilet seat does, so four stars is good enough. I can't imagine what a five star toilet seat would be like. The only problem I've found is that, at least for the month we've had it, the seat bumpers stick ever so slightly to the bowl top so that you notice it when you lift the seat.Customer Review: Good looking, well made

I bought this seat to replace a wooden seat that had come unglued. This seat is well-made in three bamboo layers. It almost looks like marquetry on the sides of the seat. The grain is tight so a home for germs is minimal. The color is medium dark and works well with my dark oak woodwork. It was easy to install and shows no signs of coming apart. I've used it for 2 weeks now. I read in another's post that the center hole was a bit small. Interestingly, that is correct. It is smaller than other "normal" seats. To me, that means more support. Just how large does the center opening need to be? As I replace other seats, I'll return to this manufacturer and type.Customer Review: It's perfect!

I reluctantly decided to order a wooden toilet seat, the bamboo & nickel hinges convinced me to give it a try. I was worried it would be uncomfortable & too hard but much to my surprise it's not at all. I love the contour & softness of the wood, it's easy to keep clean & doesn't slide around (great hinges). Well worth the money & I expect it to last much longer than other seats I've had!
