Customer Review: Does what it is supposed to do

This does exactly what it's supposed to do. Removal and installation were very easy, there was no loud pop like there was when we removed the cap that was on the fridge from the factory. I put a small dishtowel right under the filter when we removed it and it caught the little amount of water that came out.
We had replaced the filter after about 1 year with no significant performance reductions. We did not notice a reduction in flow, or any particulate matter in the water. However when I drained the water out of the old filter there was a ton of black specs that came out. Just FYI, our household only consists of 2 people but we regularly drink a couple of glasses per day. I think most couples should be able to get a year out of the filter.

My Ice Cube make was having major problems. Ice Cubes were hollow and Ice was sticking on the White Prongs that pop the cubes out. I called Amana and they were no help so I figured that the Cube maker was not getting enough water flow.
I replaced with this filter and now the Ice Cube maker is like new and the water shoots out of the dispenser like crazy. What used to take 25-30 seconds to fill a glass of water now takes 3-5 seconds.
So if you are having Ice Cube issues or poor water flow buy this.
It's a little expensive for a water filter but it's worth it.
Oh and the water tastes good too.

I bought a new refrigerator last summer from Home Depot. I tried to go back and get a new filter a few months ago and they told me that they do no carry the right filter for my fridge. I did some research and found that amazon.com carried the filter for the cheapest price and also they had their free shipping. It is a great deal! The filter fits and works great. I ordered it once I saw its white pale features, It was delivered like an angel to my door, I gently placed it in the spot it was meant to go, It was a perfect fit and looked absolutely exquisite in that spot, Then I let the inside drain for a while, and finally I drank from it with an incredible refreshment and satisfaction like no other filter I have ever bought and taken home and used. I checked them all, and this was the best price for a single pack filter. The shipment was quick and accurate. And yes, even including the cost of shipping it came out to cost less! It is an OEM bulk pack item, but hey, you just throw the box and extra paper work away anyway. Instructions are not needed unless you lack total common sense to flip, turn, and snap and your done ability. Try this guy and save, you will not be sorry.
