Tools and Hardware Reviews of McCulloch MC-1275 Heavy-Duty Steam CleanerCustomer Review: Uber Steam Cleaner Summary: 5 Stars
I love this thing! The day it arrived, I assembled it (the user manual is very clear) and immediately put it to work steam mopping the kitchen floor. It worked extremely well, much better than a sponge mop or one of those Swiffer or Grab-it type things, which I have tried in the past. And no chemicals are needed.
The next day I used it in my kids' bathroom, and mine, too. I'm a single dad, and don't get around to these areas very often. The squeegee attachment allowed me to just wipe down the shower walls to a sparkling shine. The smaller brush was handy for getting the buildup off the folds in the shower curtain. It also worked great on the toilet and sinks. It even cleaned up some old dried latex paint spills on the floor.
The MC-1275 puts out lots of steam for a long time. I give it 5 stars for usefulness and quality of construction.
I have found yet another use for this device: it blasts that window tinting right off of car glass--especially useful in the back glass when you don't want to damage the defroster wires.
Customer Review: amazing cleaning machine! Summary: 5 Stars
This is an amazing cleaning machine! I have owned this item for almost two months and use it at least twice a week. This machine is well built, easy to use, and moves easily across the floor. The only operating tip I can recommend is to make sure you let it heat up for a solid 20 minutes before using. The attachments are solid and work easily. I have cleaned everything from kitchen cabinets to grout to baseboards. I have also steam cleaned sweaters. With very little effort, it removes dried on toothpaste and any 'gunk' that accumulates in crevices. It also removes dried on paint from baseboards. It does not extract stuff; it steams it loose or off and then you easily wipe it up. After I initially spent hours in my bathrooms and kitchen cleaning everything I could think of, I now use it to clean my bathrooms on a weekly basis in about half the time as using chemical cleaners. My floors and baths stay cleaner longer; presumably because there is no chemical residue to attract the dust and grime. I'm sold on steam cleaning and sold on this little, easy to use machine!
Customer Review: Nice unit, right purchase Summary: 5 Stars
Originally was going to go for one of the small infomercial steamers and after reading inter net reviews, was convinced this would be a better investment in the long run. After a few uses I had to send unit back because it went dead, apparently a cord defect. Company gave no hassles. They repaired and sent exact unit back. Took about three weeks. Good long steam time. Don't expect it to clean everything the way you'd like, still need to use degreasers for my stove and at times I wonder if it will strip its ceramic type surface over the long run. Great for mirrors, windows, toilets, tile, stainless steal appliances. Terrific to remove mold that builds around window frames (ours are metal). Humidifies house a bit. Pretty strong blast of steam so make sure to use the safety precautions. Small attachments are cheap and will wear quickly.
Over all I appreciate what this unit has to offer, we use it once or twice a month and it fits our needs. Would recommend. Loaned it to a relative who recently moved and they hope to purchase one in the future.
Customer Review: McCulloch MC-1275 is everything you are looking for Summary: 5 Stars
i just used my new mc 1275 after reading and researching for over a year before finally buying one. This thing is fabulous. It doesn't `clean' rugs but it kills dog and ferret scent in them- it freshens them they smell clean. I am more pleased with this than i ever imagined i would be. it is well built, the steam is very hot, pressure is excellent, floors -even rugs- were not left wet but slightly damp. my extremely thick pile rug was dry in less than an hour (i have the heat on tho) and wood and linoleum less than 10 minutes. is great on windows and mirrors. is not so hot on soap buildup in shower upper level cut right through it though in the tub but i was using the squeegee attachment. i even freshened my king comforter right on the bed. if you follow directions and take your time this thing is fantastic. i haven't done any brake dust or grill or oven cleaning but i am tired now and i will do more tomorrow.
woo hoo this thing is fun and makes the house smell so goood. It just feels clean.
Customer Review: WOW - Extremely good purchase Summary: 5 Stars
I see many people purchased this for hard core removal of soap scum, grout and BBQ grills.. I can not comment on that - I wanted it for general house cleaning and WOW this fit the bill for me. The unit is really well made, sturdy and comes with some great attachments. After I vaccume, I then go around with this machine and do all the dusting, windows, mirrors, walls, woodwork, upholstery and finally the floors and rugs. I even mist the plants ! Its tough enough to blast off the residue from a bird cage or stove top - yet can be mild enough to mist away the dust on shelves without having to take everything out and use "pledge." A VERY good investment for me and I am really happy with it. BTW - I got a "refurbished" machine for less money and arrived as if brand new ( maybe it was ? ) spend the money on those "hand held steamers" OR the mop ( only ) steamer - for $20 more you can get this unit that mops, hand held steam AND will last over an hour of continous steaming.
