The McCulloch 16-inch, 3 HP electric chain saw is lightweight yet powerful, with a cutting capacity of 32-inches diameter. It is ideal for trimming small to large-size branch and cutting small to medium-sized trees. Its 3 HP, 14 Amp electric motor includes an automatic oiler and standard chain brake / hand guard, which stops the chain automatically for safety. The 16-inch guide bar reduces kickback for additional safety. Customer Review: A superb tool and a great value

Far superior to others in its price range. Has an auto chain stop (which I also use as a "safety" to ensure I don't unintentionally start it before I'm ready), has an automatic oiler (others are manual), the handle is comfortable (some others have plastic parting lines w/ rough edges under your fingers), plenty of power, and hand grips where you need them. It even sounds better than others - like a well-built instrument.
I had an earlier model which died from extended heavy use while severely pruning a big tree; the baseplate to which the gears and motor are mounted was just plastic and it warped from the accumulated heat. I expect this model is built similarly, so don't over-use it and you'll be very happy.
