Tools and Hardware Reviews of Nutriteam Countertop Water Distiller Stainless, Glass CollectionCustomer Review: So far...it's great. Summary: 5 Stars
This distiller has worked great so far. We're very satisfied with it. The stainless version looks great and is easy to clean. It comes with the cleaner (citric acid monohydrate), charcoal packets, plastic filter for the charcoal packets (water filters through this into the jug), and the plastic jug(with lid). To re-mineralize the water we found "ConcenTrace" trace mineral drops(contains no fluoride) at "Whole Foods Market". We use six drops per gallon.
To raise pH we found that by adding a smidgen of baking soda (that's less than 1/8 tsp) to 1 gallon of water we were able to raise it to an optimal level. The best part is we can't even taste the baking soda. You may want to experiment with pH test strips and baking soda yourself.

We have had the distiller for quite some time now and are very pleased with it. We bought a timer for it, so now we can run it 3 times a day (2 during the day and once at night), without it auto-shutting off. We just set the timer for 5 to 5 1/2 hours (we use hot tap water when filling) and let it go. By purchasing the timer and having it shut the distiller off we are hoping it will save the distillers auto shut off/reset function from wearing out.
Customer Review: Does what I expect Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this item through Amazon and have been generally pleased with it. The local grocery stores only stock a limited supply of distilled water, and it is a crapshoot as to wether there will be any when I show up. I have been running the unit three or four times a week to generate drinking/cooking water and the occasional gallon to top off the fish tank. It has worked flawlessly every time.
I clean the unit thoroughly after each run with a shot of vinegar, then some soap and water. The residue from the distillation process cleans up easily with a Scotchbrite type dish washing pad, although there seems to be a little staining that I can't remove.
I have not used the charcoal filters, or the cleaning solution that came with the unit.
Usually I set the distiller up before going to work or sleep (or sleeping at work) and by the time I get back, the cycle is complete and everything is cooled off. Yes, it makes some noise. It is not deafening, but you will know when it is running. It is basically just white noise from the fan blowing air across the coils.
I would recommend this unit to anyone that needs a low volume (up to 7 gallons/week) source of distilled water.
Customer Review: Exceeds my expectations Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered this distiller after researching and then waiting a while to curb the impulse potential. I am so glad to finally get it off my wish list and in my home. I used to purchase a bottled brand of vapor distilled water and although I got a great price at the "Club", schlepping the cases and having my water sitting in plastic bottles that needed to be recycled kept bothering me. Now I use my distiller once or twice a day and restructure my water as/when needed. I purchased extra residue cleaner and charcoal filters as I was not certain how much I would need. The company includes plenty of both with this product. WOW if your water is important to you ( and it should be) research the value of distilling and then get this distiller it is PERFECT! Very competitive price too! The area I live in touts its Artesian Aquifers whenever water quality is discussed but you should see what is left behind after each distillation. The product came quicker than expected, packaged perfectly, excellent instructions - all around great choice! Thank you Nutriteam and Amazon!!!
Customer Review: Not all is as it seems Summary: 5 Stars
Okay, first of all, the part of the machine where the water comes out is made of plastic, and the attachment that holds the activated charcoal filter is also plastic, so the glass collection container is kinda pointless. You could save yourself a lot of money and just get the model with the plastic container. The water that comes out of the distiller is still relatively hot, so it's probably picking up chemicals from the plastic. Secondly, the water collection container is dark blue and grey, not black like it looks in the photo, so the distiller and the container do not match, which is kinda odd looking. However, considering that this is the most affordable distiller I could find, these drawbacks are acceptable to me.
Update: I've been using this distiller for the past few months for almost all my water needs. I have it hooked up to a 5-hour timer that shuts off the distiller while there's still some water in the bottom. The water tastes awful if you let the distiller shut off by itself. So far, it's working just great.
Customer Review: Worth every penny Summary: 5 Stars
I've been drinking bottled water delivered to my doorstep for something like 25 years and I purchased this unit as a cost savings measure against the cost of bottled water and also to stop drinking water stored in plastic bottles. I've been using this little unit for just over a month, distill about 5 gallons a week, sometimes two or three gallons back to back and it just chugs away. It is a little noisy so it's best to turn it on as you walk out the door to go to work or turn it on at night and put it in a room where you won't hear it. Overall, it produces a nice clean tasting water. I live where the water is hard. Even after filling the unit with filtered water, I'm amazed at how much gunk is left after distilling the water. After a month of use, my body really does feel the difference.
