This is one of the better brands in my opinion. It is all incense, not incense bonded to wood, so you have to be careful and use it in a burner that collects the ash, because it will burn down to the end, and will be difficult to get out of the burner unless you can poke it out thru the other end. It is about the size of a 5-7mm pencill lead as described. An excellent burner is the coffin type from egifts on amazon, which you can burn this type as well as the type that does have a wood end. The egift coffin burner collects the ash, hold sticks in a hidden compartment, is made well and you can also burn cones. They are an excellent company as well and their customer service is simply amazing. This is good incense, a good solid lasting aroma, and the burner described is excellent for this type of stick as it will hold 4 sticks to burn, (usually only 1 at a time) the ash is contained and easily cleaned
