I bougth Clocky for my husband's birthday. He had been using his blackberry for an alarm clock, and wasn't too happy with that arrangement. We had thought about buying Clocky for his little brother for Christmas, so I knew it was something he'd be interested in.
We love Clocky. First of all, he works really well as a clock/alarm clock. It's very easy to set both the time, and the alarm. The alarm is loud, and also varried. There is no way you could sleep through Clocky. It sounds a bit like R2D2 when it goes off. It also flashes a little light, and I swear, giggles.
We have set him to roll off the nightstand to test this function, and he did very well. He ran away and hid in our closet. For everyday use we just keep him stationary. The alarm is enough to wake us up, without the scavanger hunt. My husband LOVES that you can vary the snooze time.
I am very happy with Clocky. I would definitely recommend the product to others.

For as long as I can remember, I have had trouble waking up using a regular alarm clock. In the past few years, I've used an alarm clock, three alarms on my cell phone, and recently an alarm on my work cell phone placed across the room. All of them, every morning.
Then I bought Clocky a month ago. I now use my old alarm clock to have the radio start pulling me out of sleep, then Clocky rolls along the floor and I'm up. No more additional alarms.
Like other reviewers have mentioned, it helps a lot to have the random alarm pattern and, for what it is worth, it doesn't sound like other alarm clocks. You do have to plan a little and block off where you don't want Clocky to go--like under the bed. And if you have the habit of unconsciously turning off the alarm, then I suggest setting it to not have the snooze setting.
All in all, this is the best alarm clock I've ever had. I'd buy it again, too.

Please learn folks-
EVERY TIME you change Clocky's batteries, you MUST set up the wheels! For example, if you want the wheels to go off RIGHT AWAY AT THE SAME TIME THAT THE ALARM GOES OFF, YOU MUST ,
as per the manufacturer FAQ: "Note that Clocky will not move until a minute after the snooze button has been pressed. THIS MAY BE CHANGED by pressing the 'a' button two times rapidly and then pressing the 'm' button to customize your Clocky's snooze time.
try pressing the 'a' and 't' buttons on the top simultaneously to operate the test mode. If your Clocky is functioning properly the display would be on and the wheels will start to move."
I repeat: this item is wonderful and is working well!

I am a deep sleeper and sleep through most alarm clocks. Clocky is loud enough to wake even me up! It is also super adorable. It is very small and fits well on a bedside table. The clock will go off once, and if you hit snooze the next time it goes off it will roll off your bedside table. He sounds like a little robot and the alarm is very loud. It is not as annoying to wake up to as a beeping normal alarm clock. The only problem is that it is tempting to hit the off button instead of snooze, but there is a "no snooze" option that makes the alarm clock jump off before you have a chance to turn it off. The time is also hard to see at times, you have to have the right angle on it to see what time it is. otherwise it is a very effective alarm clock. I haven't overslept since I recieved it!Customer Review: I've been converted!

Having never been a morning person and guilty of being late everywhere I went, I can thank Clocky for converting me into a respectable 28 year old who gets out of bed the first time the alarm goes off, not hitting snooze every 9 minutes until an hour or has passed and I am late to work. The first morning clocky went off I thought I was under alien invasion but I leapt out of bed with the enthusiasm of a child on Christmas morning. Clocky's wheel keeps falling off but I keep putting it back on and she gets the job done. I heart my clocky and have told many people how wonderful it is!
