Well I have to say that the second guy that reviewed this clock must really be a coma patient, because if this thing doesnt wake you up, then nothing will.
I am a very deep sleeper. I can sleep through earthquakes, kids, and every other alarm clock known to man. I was habitually late when it came to getting up in the morning. I have have slept through my alarms on most occasions and when woken up, had never even heard them. To put it another way, on a scale of 1 to 10, on how deep one can sleep, I'm a 10.
At one time when I was single, and had no one else to consider, I had a home theater system with a built in alarm function. I would set it to about half volume and set it on a hard rock CD. This would be so loud that I would on occasion fall out of bed, and most times be scared when it went off. If I had a heart condition I would be dead, thats how loud. This is the first and only alarm clock that has come close to giving me that same feeling when it wakes me up. It has a very distinct and random tone, very reminiscent of R2-D2, and it is very loud. To top it off he will run and hide, although this is not what has forced me to get up, it has been the alarm sound itself.
When I first purchased this alarm and tried it out, I allowed it to run and it went to the middle of my California king. I couldnt reach it to shut it off. If this had been a real situation I would have definately been wide awake. Since I have actually begun using it though I have found that I have not given it a chance to run, because as soon as it hits the floor I am on it and awake, as it scares me awake.
The only bad thing is that it runs on batteries, which for me only seem to last a couple weeks. That being said, since I am always on time now it seems like a small price to pay. Would have been a better design if it had built in rechargeables and sat on a dock most of the time.
All in all I totally recommend this Clock.

I am a full time college student and am known for not being able to drag myself out of bed in the mornings. I could sleep through any alarm! I saw Clocky and decided to spend the money, it's the best money I've ever spent!
I set Clocky for snooze, now you're thinking, that is where it would fail you? Nope, Clocky only allows you to snooze ONCE! When you snooze time is up (0 - 9 minutes, you set it) the alarm goes off again and in less than 1 second he's off your bedside table roaming around your bedroom floor. The only way to turn him off? GET OUT OF BED AND CHASE HIM!
The logic is, if you have to chase the clock, you are already up... well, what can I say, IT WORKS! I actually get up ON TIME now! This clock is a life saver!
If you are wondering what Clocky sounds like... picture a very small, R2D2, or as I call him, R2D2 Jr.

My son has a terrible time waking up in the morning. This alarm does not wake you too suddenly so that your heart is pounding, but it sure gets your attention. I can hear it go off in the morning and I wake from it smiling. It does sound like R2D2 as other reviewers have noted. My only complaint is it is easy to turn off if you hit the wrong button in your sleepy state of mind. Love the fact that it starts racing around the room after you use the snooze button. Even my son can't sleep through this alarm. It's easy to set and hard to catch (but still allows for a snooze - just one). He's had one for a couple of years and asked for another to take to college so that he doesn't have to carry it back and forth - didn't want to be without it. Gets him up and moving when nothing else will - great gift for any hard sleeper or teen. Sounds a little like R2D2 on steroids!Customer Review: Awesome!

Clocky is the best! He makes the craziest noises when he goes off. Then you hit snooze, and the next time he goes off he rolls right off your nightstand and starts making his way around your room. He always goes a different way, and it makes you get out of bed to find him and turn him off. A great clock for those who have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning!
