Rare earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet currently made. They are amazingly powerful for their size and have innumerable uses. These rod magnets are 0.250 inch (6.4mm) diameter and 0.250 inch (6.4mm) long. They are magnetized through the length. They are composed of grade 40 neodymium iron boron magnetic material and are plated in nickel-copper-nickel for a shiny corrosion resistant finish. Their individual pull force is approximately 5 lbs. Customer Review: Unbelievably strong magnets

Got this set of magnets to replace several magnets used to hold pictures on the fridge. This babies are VERY strong - almost too strong. My kids can't remove them from the fridge (maybe a good thing?). But they can hold absolutely anything on the fridge door without sliding, or budging after frequent door opening and closing. Their very small size makes them almost disappear, allowing pictures and whatnot to be easily seen on the fridge door. Great magnets, but be warned about their strength!
