Tools and Hardware Reviews of Super-Bright 9 LED Heavy-Duty Compact Aluminum Flashlight - Jet BlackCustomer Review: Brilliant light, perfect for keeping in car, purse, even around the house Summary: 5 Stars
This is such an incredibly good product - the LED's are bright, the bulbs last forever, and the batteries on the ones I bought months ago haven't needed changing yet, even with daily use. The construction is excellent. It's a little hard to thread the loop of the strap through the pinhole-sized eyelet at the back of the flashlight cylinder, but that's the worst I can say about this. I paid $8 for these at another online store, and they were still worth it. At the price here, even better.
Once you have a few, you can find great uses for them:
- Outdoors, of course - camping or simply going for a walk
- In the garage or toolbox for finding stuff
- As emergency lights, tucked away accessibly in each room
- Personal flashlights - in your car, purse, camera bag
- Supplemental lighting for your camera if you take close-up pictures of nature or anything small (your built-in flash can't point that close to your lens)
- Carry them while bicycling - spare headlamp for your bike
Customer Review: Great little LED light ! Summary: 5 Stars
The first thing I did when I got this light was click it on and off (several hundred times) to see if I could make the switch malfunction. I figured that would be the most vulnerable part to wear out first. It didn't break, and I was just about to give the light a thumbs-up review, when it inexplicably started to flicker and then stop working at all. Before I returned it to Amazon for a refund, I decided to take it apart, examine it, and use my digital multimeter to see what the problem was. The test results were fine (no shorts, no opens) this light SHOULD work. I found the problem, the end cap and flashlight body were not making good contact. The black annodized coating on the end of the battery tube was the culprit. I sanded it with nail file, till it was shiny and screwed it back together and it now works 100%. I'm sure that's what is happening to most of the customers who have had bad things to say about this little light. It's a quick easy fix, and I'm keeping mine.
Customer Review: You get what you pay for Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great product for what it is. What is it? An inexpensive (cheap) flashlight.
Some reviewers seem to want Surefire quality from a light that costs 1/20th of what some of those cost. You want a Surefire? Ante up and buy one.
Anyway, I have 2 nitpicks:
1) the battery holder tends to move around in the body of the flashlight. Not a deal breaker but annoying. I fixed it by wrapping some small rubber bands around the holder.
2) I guess this is less of a nitpick and more of a wish. I wish you could focus the light beam. The beam is definitely a flood. At close range (<10') the light is very bright and effective. Past that you can forget about it.
Overall, the price-to-performance ratio is off the charts. Lots of bang for the buck.
If they could figure out how to adjust the beam, I'd give this thing 6 stars. :)
Customer Review: Great Value Summary: 5 Stars
This flashlight is very bright. For all the bad reviews people need to realize its 4.50 cents not 50.00 some people are just absolutely dumb. I use this light doing security at a nightclub and this light has plenty of power to get peoples attention and light up an area it is absolutely blinding if you look into it. I understand that the inside of the light seems to be a little lose and rattles around...A couple things you can do that I recommend is to replace the batteries that are included for starters..I did this and it made a huge difference. Another thing is if the component that holds the batteries isn't tight wrap a piece of tape around it to hold them in snug..and another thing is you can gently pull the spring on the top part out a little more to also have a snug contact on everything. This flashlight is a great deal and worth the 5 bucks.
Customer Review: Good quality inexpensive light. Summary: 5 Stars
I originally bought 2 of these lights. I've had them for 16 months now and both have consistently functioned perfectly! They feel solid, seem well constructed, and of course are extremely inexpensive. In terms of performance, this little light is almost as bright as my 3 C cell maglite, at a fraction of the maglight's cost and size. There's something about the design/dimentions and weight of these things that just "feels right".
While originally inteneded for use in the car, they're now kept by the bed and used regularly (lately when taking the dog out walking at night). The battery performance is great (after 16 months at least one of these is still working on the original included set of AAA batteries). Seriously, how can you go wrong for under $6??
I just ordered 6 more!
