This in no way should be counted as a mattress pad. It is extremely useless. I am living in a college dorm and know that the beds are usually uncomfortable, hence I bought this counting on it making a difference. This is more like a Mattress protector. It fits snug (twin xl) on my bed, but their is no cushion to it, its just another thin layer.
