I do not usually write product reviews. However, I will for this product. The price was definitely an issue in my purchase. But outside of that the reviews were also as important. In the end it becomes a personal decision. I took the plunge and the item arrived a little earlier than expected. Since this unit was to be set-up in our guest room, I was not concerned about finishing it, so I left it natural as it came from the box. The box: everything was very well packaged and the frame was excellent as to its looks and durability. Putting it together was very very simple. Yes it does help to have two people, but if it is a single person job, then get a foot stool to act as a second person. Take your time and in less than 30 minutes you are done. Others had made reference to the center section being too wide, no issue for me as I was using box springs and mattress. Wife loves the fact that it now looks like a princess bed because of how high it sits when everything is together. We do not like to use box springs, so when we found ourselves in need of a new platform bed, we looked around everywhere for a simple, unfinished solid wood frame at an inexpensive price. This bed has met our expectations so far. We've used it for a little over a month and love it. The bed arrived quickly and was very easy to assemble. The instructions are originally written in English (they aren't awkwardly ambiguous translations of a foreign language into English!) and provide helpful tips should you want to stain your bed frame. The frame is quite sturdy - sturdy enough to hold a pregnant woman and her 6'2" husband night after night. While there is a small gap in the center, we have not had any experience with our mattress sagging. Staining the frame would make it look nicer, but we choose not to do this. Our bedding covers most of the frame anyway. One nice feature of this bed frame is that it is a few inches higher than most similar platform bed or futon frames, giving you more storage space underneath.Customer Review: Good, Solid quality.

From the satisfied reviews I've read on Amazon, I chose to buy the queen size. It arrived in less than a week and I was surprised on how small the box was, around 7 feet long and weighed 55 pounds. They weren't kidding about the solid, sturdy wood of the parts, which is a welcome change from the cardboard-like furniture you can buy at brick & mortar stores like Ikea.
The bed was easy to assemble and took me around an hour to put together. Be a bit careful since the wood breaks a bit on the grooves but totally negligible.
I would recommend painting and/or staining the bed to make it so much better but you can still leave it as it is.
One note when putting this all together: when attaching the leg ends to the middle rail frames, you attach them upside down if you're assembling the bed alone. If you're not as handy with assembling furniture, be sure to get some help.

When I bought a new mattress a year ago I shopped around for a new bed frame. I wanted a platform bed (I don't like box springs) but everything I saw in person was very cheap looking and made out of particle board.
I came across this bed on Amazon and (after reading every review) I ordered it in the queen size. I put the bed together is about an hour and didn't have any problems. The unfinished wood is much nicer looking than I expected so I haven't stained it.
I have a normal thickness mattress on the frame and cannot feel anything in the middle of the bed. My favorite feature is all of the storage room I now have under my bed.
I am thrilled with my purchase. The cheap particle board beds were twice as much as this solid wood frame. Bravo for such excellent quality at a reasonable price!

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this platform. Every piece is solid wood, and it assembled quickly. Some of the wooden slats were very dark or even black, but because they are under the mattress they are not visible. The visible pieces are a uniform color, natural cream-colored wood with a nice grain. As others have said, the two long center supports are slightly higher than the adjacent slats, perhaps a quarter inch. However this was not noticeable with the mattress in place. I do some wood working, and if I were to make something similar myself, the materials alone would cost me more than this entire finished product. I intend to buy another for our guest bedroom. Completely satisfied with the purchase, would have happily paid twice as much.
