Tools and Hardware Reviews of Super Switch Wireless Remote

Customer Review: what you won't read
Summary: 1 Stars

This switch has a built in 4 hour timer. So if whatever you have plugged into it is turned off for more than 4hrs, you have to reactivate the device with the remote or manually.

Example:I used it to turn off the living room lights from my bedroom at night. When I wake up in the morning, I hit the remote and turn the lights on. Then I turn off the lights manually before leaving for work. Then, in the evening, when I come home to a dark house, I either have to move the couch to turn the device on manually, or fumble my way to my bedroom to hit the remote. Were it not for this built in timer, which you can't turn off, it would be a good product.

Customer Review: You get what you pay for which is not much with this remote
Summary: 1 Stars

I did not purchase this product through Amazon. But I bought the exact same device (Super Switch Brand with three outlets and one remote control with three switches) from a Harbor Freight Tool Store. I experienced the same problem described by others in the reviews involving short range which kept getting shorter and eventually didn't work at all after about a week. I purchased a skylink wireless remote Skylink WS-100/WS-100N Wireless Remote Control, Channel A(Single switch and outlet) using Amazon and it has been working perfectly for over a year now.

Customer Review: Useful only as a peper weight
Summary: 1 Stars

The remote unit doesn't work. Perhaps its frequency is not calibrated to that of the receiver unit, but there's no way to tell, since it doesn't allow for frequency adjustment. The receiver's "on" and "off" buttons do work if pressed manually, and the LED indicators show that (1) the receiver is getting power and (2) the remote is sending its radio signal. But the receiver apparently isn't receiving the signal -- whether from several feet away or right next to the outlet -- or so the device is completely useless for its intended purpose.

Customer Review: Malfunctioned shortly after install. Not made well.
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this to control some cable lighting I installed above some tall cabinets as offset lighting. At install, the controller was finicky about where to point it to make it work. But a couple days later when I tried to get the lights on, I had to hold it a foot away from the outlet to make it work--sometimes. I bought a name brand one at the local hardware store for $2 more and it works perfectly from virtually anywhere in my house. This one is not well made and not reliable; I won't be buying anything this brand again ever.

Customer Review: electronic switch fails easily
Summary: 1 Stars

One of my three remote units burnt out after only using it a half dozen times on 400 Watts of flouresent lighting. Control range for remote is not consistent. Sometimes it works from across the room. At other times I need to be 2 feetaway. Battery in remote is not a common AA or AAA. You have to buy an odd ball 12V miniature battery type 23AE, when it is time to replace it.
