Tools and Hardware Reviews of O2Cool 8101 Deluxe Battery-Operated Handheld Water-Misting FanCustomer Review: Great product Summary: 5 Stars
It was delivered very quickly and was exactly what we wanted. Very sturdy and spray is just perfect. Thanks!
Customer Review: An ALMOST good fan... Summary: 4 Stars
I have bought perhaps 6 of these, and on one the squirter stopped working, though the fan kept going. For a (then) $7 investment, I didn't feel like taking it apart and reattaching what came loose. The other ones I bought, for up to $10 each, at local stores, have held together, and the two I bought for relatives have kept working.
My elderly mother, who has mid-Alzheimer's, likes it enough to actually learn how to turn the power on/off. She loves these things! Buttons are not her forte.
PROS. I think the wind speed is fine, and the overall effect is refreshing, especially if you put ice in the water. Water goes in bottom, with large opening. Did not notice leaking, other than when water is sprayed around. The clear plastic fan looks nasty once it gets going...very fast, but it can be easily stopped with fingers. Doesn't hurt at all.
CONS: Tf you squirt without the fan on, the spray might hit the stationery fan blade and just leak. Move the blades a bit. As others have said, I would not be surprised if it stopped working. It LOOKS so cool, and people often stop me to have a look a it. A gal with hotflashes LOVED it.
If there is a unit, even at 2-3 times price, that is made to last, I'd buy it. Suggestions??
Customer Review: Great on a hot day Summary: 4 Stars
I just saw this Saturday at a lovely outdoor wedding. At 105 degrees it was very uncomfortable. Some people had old fashioned paper fans, and one table had several of these devices. We managed to borrow 1 and it was wonderful. I don't know how long they last, but in really hot weather who cares as long as they last through the day. Loved the sprits, the fan worked very well, and I didn't notice any of the other problems mentioned. I am buying one for my aging mom who is often very uncomfortably hot when she ventures outside. It's not a heavy duty fan, nor should it be, and it isn't a replacement for air conditioning, but on a really hot summer day when you have to be outside, it's wonderful.
Customer Review: Excellent Fan!! Summary: 4 Stars
I used this fan at an outdoor event where it was very warm and it kept me much cooler. The mist isn't overpowering and definitely helps to cool you off when the fan alone isn't enough. The battery life was also really good. I used mine for the better part of four days and it was still going strong. The only drawback I saw was that the fan is a little loud if you're in an area where you need to be quiet.
Customer Review: Bad design makes it inconvenient, but it does sort of work Summary: 2 Stars
1. The push-button switch will get turned on when it's in your bag. It should have been made with a slide-switch.
2. The spray nozzle is behind the fan blade, and when the fan is stopped it is usually covering the nozzle. (The nozzle should have been positioned lower so the fan blade can't interfere with it.)
3. Why is the screw-off lid on the bottom? Why not make it more like a regular spray bottle where the nozzle and fan come off with the lid, and the bottom is just a standard bottle?
