This is a copy of the review I left for this product with the added "stopper" feature. The review applies here as well.
Saw these at Wholefoods for around $15. Thought I'd check out Amazon. After reading the reviews, I decided to buy at Bed, Bath and Beyond. They are the same price there, $7.99 for the ones without the stopper, $9.99 for the ones with. I first bought the ones with the stopper. But, as another poster stated, they did not stay in my sinks. I guess all sinks are not created equal. I would push them all the way in and they would slowly pop themselves out over the course of about 3 seconds. This is exactly why I bought at a store where I could return them. Took them back and got the ones without the stoppers. So far so good. They look great and the food debris is easy to remove. Yes, they get filled up when you are doing a lot of rinsing, but I have not found this to be a problem. They are there to catch that stuff, afterall.
Added note - The stopper did not touch anything in my sink or drain when just "dropped down" so, maybe some drains are further down than others. I had to push it to make contact but it would not stay there.

I wasn't expecting much, but the Good Grips sink strainer is way better than a conventional plug strainer or a screen strainer. And, unlike the previous reviewer, this thing fits my drain perfectly with no centering required. Plus, with it's stainless ring and black strainer, it looks great - really great.
Here's how it's better than the screen type strainer and the plug strainers I've used before:
1) Much easier to clean. Pull it out and almost everything falls clear. The screen tends to cling to small debris requiring some serious spraying. The silicon and larger holes allows this to come clean immediately.
2) The wider steel rim looks awesome and makes the silicone collar lie totally flat. It also allows all those scraps friction-free transit to the basket. Since there's silicon all the way under the collar, it clings well to the drain.
3) The center pull - allow you to invert the drain basket to empty it, and also allows you to remove it from the drain without having to pry up an edge or get your fingers in the yucky stuff.
What a cool little thing.

I've owned this small piece of perfection for some time now and I couldn't be more pleased! It does what it's supposed to do and it looks good doing it.
-It fits the kitchen sink drain
-It doesn't rock or move around
-It strains and holds a fair amount of stuff while allowing water to easily pass through
-It lifts up easily without tipping it's contents out
-It inverts itself while in your garbage can, allowing easy emptying
-It has a small handle to grab so that you don't get your fingers all messy
-It doesn't rust
-It is cool looking black silicone and stainless steel that looks great in a stainless steel sink.
-It has a black silicone-lined bottom so it wont scratch or mar the sink surface
-It is inexpensive!
Oxo also makes a strainer with a stopper on the bottom. OXO Good Grips 1345100 Silicone Sink Strainer with Stopper which I also own. I prefer the reviewed model as I rarely need a stopper for the kitchen sink.

I can't believe I am writing a review for a sink strainer, however I must because of the benefit this has incurred for my wife and I.
Before having purchased this item, I nearly every day would have to clear out the drain catch due to it getting clogged up with food from dinner. Oftentimes I would find myself either pulling out the food particles with my hand or just pressing them down into the drain because I was not able to pull the food out.
This little device is ingenious. I know Oxo is big on the silicone implementation and I have to say it is very helpful in this respect. The strain can be inverted to easily pull out the left-over debris. Try doing that with a metal mesh drain. This strainer also fits perfectly. If it was not for the small Oxo logo on top, it would look as if the strainer came with the sink itself.
Definitely a great buy. I highly recommend.

We're so happy with this strainer! Agree with the first reviewer that it is so much better than the mesh baskets that fall apart, scratch you up, and are dirty no matter what you do to keep them clean. I don't see any mentions of the stopper feature that's on this. you actually can turn the center stem and pull up or down (not completely up) and it will act as a stopper as well. works great, cleans like a dream, looks nice too! the ONLY thing is that that stopper feature (turning the stem) , I'd like to see it a bit 'tighter' it seams that the little stem will turn on its own sometimes - with dishes in the sink etc - and go into stopper mode. you don't realize till the water fills up.
even with this - its STILL fabulous!!! and I would buy it again over any other stopper!
