Tools and Hardware Reviews of Optimus H-4110 9-Inch Dish HeaterCustomer Review: 300 Watt Wonder Summary: 5 Stars
Bought five (5) of these nine-inch parabolic reflector radiant heaters and they work well in proper applications. Great space heater for small rooms. Point it towards you and it warms up surfaces, not the air. Regardless of how much you pay per kilowatt/hour, 300 Watts is much less energy consumption than a 750-1500 Watt oil-filled heater or similar. You can lower your whole house thermostat and use space heaters to selectively add warmth when and where needed. This can work much to your benefit if your home has only one or two heating zones. Keep combustibles at least a foot away. The tip-over safety feature is a plus. The orange glow works well as a night light, too. Might I suggest a large dinner plate as the base to protect the surface it is placed on, especially the front.
Customer Review: This is the perfect heater to set near your baby or small child Summary: 5 Stars
While I would not recommend using only one of these by themselves for severely cold or even cold weather, it does the trick to keep a small room or a small body warm during cool weather.
It has safety features that make this the perfect heater near a child.
It can warm little ones without making them feel stuffy or overly hot quickly.
It can even give off a night light glow while on.
The only con I can see is that it is not exactly going to keep work, using only 1 heater, if temperatures drop at keeping out the chill, so use this only when you know that the weather is cooler but not too cold.
I definitely think if you have more than 1, you can save on electricity and keep warmer.
Great buy!
Customer Review: Excellent personal heater Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great personal heater for the money. Unlike other heaters, it stands up to being kicked, dropped, hit, stepped on, and still keeps working. Beware of light bulb heaters that claim to be more powerful and cheaper - the light bulb in those other heaters WILL burn out after a year and your heater will be garbage. Yes, a personal heater is one you put NEAR YOU. If you want to be heated from a heater that is 12 feet away, this is not the heater for you - but at less than 6 inches away, it is even too hot for comfort. this heater works just fine from about 3 feet away, and you can also keep your coffee cup in front of the heater and it will keep your drinks warm at the same time it is heating you!
Customer Review: Perfect under desk Summary: 5 Stars
This heater does exactly what the advertisement says it will do. It fits easily under a desk & supplements the room heat. It is low wattage(300W) so operating expense is minimal with little risk of tripping a breaker, it has a tip-over safety switch, & it does not produce too much heat so as to become uncomfortably hot when sitting at my desk. I would not recommend it for heating a room... even a small room such as a bathroom, unless you planned to leave it on for long periods of time, especially considering the extremely low wattage. It produces 'instant' heat directly in front of it, but as with any radiant heating method, takes quite some time to make the entire area feel warm.
Customer Review: Perfect for my needs Summary: 5 Stars
First off I live in Miami, if you're planning on using this thing to heat your apartment it's probably not right for you. I like to sit on my balcony and sometimes at night it gets a bit chilly in the winter (I'm talking about upper 50's or lower 60's not really cold weather). I've been using a 1500 watt fan heater to keep me warm while I sit out and read, this heats (me) just as much as the fan heater, saves a lot of electricity, and is quiet and doesn't blow air at me. I wouldn't use this to heat your bedroom, but if you want to use it for a purpose similar to mine, namely where you just want to heat you and not the whole outdoors, I think this is superior to a ceramic/fan heater.
