very warm even at 400w , low at 400watts, hi at 800 watts, easy to find and easy to use controls at top right side, warms up very very quickly about 1 and a half minutes, about 1 and a half pounds, about 14 inches wide, by 13 inches tall, by 4 inches thick , no fan , SUPER QUIET, as advertised, hope it lasts, will buy another one soon, does not suck up oxygen, gives no odor, excellent, no humming noise nor crackling noise, i suggest you keep objects 2 feet from front and maybe 3 inches from objects [on the back and sides], had it a couple days.
UPdAtE: had it over a year, the heater is excellent.

Great product for the price. It's attractive looking, and ultra lightweight. It's like having a mini fireplace in my living room. If you are sensitive to smells, as I am, let it run for an hour or so on an outdoor porch or in garage. It emitted a smell that almost gave me a migraine initially. Overall, am very satisfied with this purchase.
I also bought the Soleus Air heater for $44, and it is ULTRA bright on 800W. It's like looking into the sun, but the oscillation feature is awesome and spans a wide width. I'm going to keep both and use the Optimus while I'm reading at night.
I'm impressed with the quiet operation, as I previously owned a fan heater, which was quite noisy.

My computer desk is at my window where I there are drafts and when the central heating is cycled off I freeze.
I also wanted something with low wattage to save on electric plus not have to worry about it tripping the circuit breaker. True I do not live in the frozen eastern parts of the country but it is still damp and cold here and this little heater makes me warm and toasty. In fact it warms up my entire room just fine.
I am glad I did not listen to the bad reviews because I almost didn't buy it.
No wonder the good reviews far outweigh the bad. This little heater at 400 watts packs a punch and the 800 watts makes it almost tropical.
I don't think I could be happier or warmer.

I bought one of these heaters last year to help heat one of our bedrooms, about 10x12 feet. Even in the coldest weather around zero outside it keeps the bedroom toasty warm. In more moderate weather low setting is all I need. Because it has no fan, it is silent and I like that. No noise to keep me awake. I like that the settings are 400 and 800 watts, all I need with no overkill. As the temperature got colder outside my daughter decided she would use it in her room, so I ordered another one for me and I just umboxed it and fired it up. Works perfect; not much to go wrong with it. I am well satisfied with these heaters and would recommend them to anyone. And for $30 bucks, they can't be beat in my book. If I could give it six stars, I would.Customer Review: this heater rocks!

I bought one of these a year ago, and we've used it quite a bit. Neither one of the quartz bulbs has burned out. I bought two more so there would be one for each bedroom. We use them at night when we're a little chilly, but don't want to pay to heat the whole house. They have saved me a ton of money on utility bills! Our house uses heating oil, which tends to be really expensive when there's an offshore drilling rig on fire in the Gulf of Mexico, go figure. I highly recommend them, because they put out actual heat, they don't blow hot air on you like some of the ceramic heaters. I bought one of them too, but there was a loud POP! two days after we took it out of the box and it never worked again. I'll stick with what works.
