At the low setting of only 400 watts, this heater produces a lot of heat! I am in the bottom unit of a very old building (built around 1900), so it is freeeezing! This heater has really helped! I keep it under my desk at my home office and it keeps me working. Before, I purchased a couple of energy-efficient 400 watt wall-mounted heaters (for over $80 each), but those take far too long to heat up (by the time the room is warm, I'm ready to leave). This affordable ($30) Optimus heater gives you instant gratification and plenty of heat. I haven't even used it at the 800 watt setting yet. I think I might buy another one or two for the other rooms of my house.Customer Review: Good, quiet heater.

I wanted a heater that I could keep on while I sleep, and I can't stand the noise of a fan. I decided that I'd much rather have an orange light than a humming noise, so I went ahead and ordered this heater. It's one of the best purchases I made. I live in an apartment where I have no control of the heat or air so this was a good choice for me. Since it's a radiant heater, it is completely quiet and I don't like the orange glow at night.
I rarely use the 800 watt setting, the 400 watt (only the top bar lights up) does very well in keeping my room warm. If you want a heater, but can't stand the noise of a fan this is a good choice for you.

Our office central heat has been broken for ages and my boss was about to kick me out of the office because of the noise from my fan heater so I decided it was time to get a silent one. I'm very happy with the Optimus H-5210 (and so is he). It heats up our 20x20 office within an hour and keeps my feet very warm! It has a sensor on the bottom so it automatically turns off if it isn't in the standing position. The 2 settings for head are perfect -- 400W or 800W. It has an easy-to-use dial and doesn't overheat and turn off (BIG problem with the previous fan version!!!). A bonus is it's absolutely, 100% silent. This little heater is perfect for creating near by comfort. We have it between our two office desks and it keeps us plenty cozy. We moved it to the other side of the room for a while but it does not seem to heat the whole room, so our legs were cold. Back to between the desks it went, and we are cozy again.
This little Optimus heater does not use much power and is great for someone with lung problems. The radiant quartz heaters make for easier breathing than other types of heaters. It does not dry out the air in the room and does not have a fan to make noise. I ordered this heater after lots of research and am soooo very happy with it.

I purchased 3 of these heaters for my mom this year for Christmas.. Of course I had to make sure they worked, so I opened the first one that arrived. I was instantly impressed and ended up keeping it and ordering her another one. I would reccomend having one for each room that you spend a lot of time in. Mine keeps me toasty warm on 400 most of the time. We have started to dip into the 20's at night lately here in AZ, so I have put it on the 800 the last couple of nights and it has been great. My muscles were so warm and relaxed yesterday morning when I woke up, not typical for a cold winter morning. I reccomend these to anyone..
