Tools and Hardware Reviews of Orange Guard 103 Water Based Indoor/Outdoor Home Pest Control - 32 oz Spray

Customer Review: I would buy this again!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a very small 'efficency' apartment that shares a wet-wall with another apartment. When my neighbor was evicted & his apartment was cleaned out I got a sudden rush of roaches coming into my kitchenette and bathroom! Disgusting!! I wanted a product that would make my space less attractive to these nasty pests but also didn't want to fear taking a breath filled with chemicals. I have no pets or small children to worry about but didn't want to inhale fumes either since the ventilation is sub-par even with floor fans.
I purchased this product mainly because its' main, active ingredients are non-toxic and I had read the smell was pleasant. I can certainly say I enjoy the aroma after coating both the bathroom and kitchen amply. It just smells like i've used an orange cleanser. I can see a light film that's left when i've just wiped it up instead of rinsing it off. I will update in a couple of weeks to advise if this has been the end of the invasion or if additional applications (or chemicals?) are needed.
Update: 9/18/2010
Well, I have a mixed review. On one hand, the spray doesn't do the impossible (instantly kill all insects within feet of the 'infestation') but it does give off an odor these pests just hate. I can go for weeks without seeing a single roach after spraying down an area but it definitely needs to be reapplied after a while or they start becoming bold and wondering back in.
I would certainly recommend this product though because it is effective even if for a limited time, but mostly because I didn't realize how great it is to have something chemical free to use in my bathroom and kitchen area.

Customer Review: Great for controlling insects - should be in every store in USA
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this at a store locally and actually met the owner of the company - a very nice man -concerned with people's health and the environment. I am glad to see I can get it on Amazon also. At the time I first bought it, I had little children and lots of ants that loved the food that my kids dropped on the floor. Spraying Orange Guard on the baseboard, window sills, etc. where they traveled and using Grants Ant Spikes in the ground around my house - out of the way of my kids and pets, took care of the problem. The ants went away. But, I needed to keep at it, over the years, because they come back, usually during winter. This last winter the Grant Spikes didn't seem to work as well. The Orange Guard did a great job as it has always done. My 1/2 bath still gets ants sometimes, but not much, one or two a day, then weeks without any. I don't even use the Orange Guard, I just dispose of them. Then a dozen come during the rainy season - and that is when I get out the Orange Guard. And that does the trick. KEEP at it and over a period of time, the ants will see your home as not a safe place and just not come around as much.

I have defeated the ant (and a few spiders, etc.) and I have not poisoned myself or my family in the process!!! Thank you Tor, for your 14 years of research. You are a blessing. All stores in America should sell your product.

Summary: 5 Stars

I have been using this product for years. When I was visiting my sister in Indiana I recommended Orange Guard to her and two of her friends when they were talking about roaches in their apartment complex. They have pest control service but still see them now and then. On returning home I decided to send the three pack so they could see first hand what a great product it is. I also loaned my Orange Guard to another friend and a few days later he went on line and ordered some for himself. He thought it was great!

I live in Florida, do not have a pest control service, instead, I spray Orange Guard around the inside baseboards, vents, under sinks and I spray window sills and doorways inside and out twice a year. During prolonged rains I will spot spray areas other than baseboards. At first I would see a dead roach or bug now and then, but now, I can't remember the last time I saw one. It is a great product, safe and though it does have a slight smell, it is not at all bad and doesn't hang around long.

Customer Review: Great Ant erradicator for plants & Orchids! - as well as kitchens & trash cans
Summary: 5 Stars

I get lots of ant attacks from neighboring properties. I live in Southern California where ants are busy all year long- AND, my neighbors have lots of ants. I get rid of mine as soon as I see any evidence that they're trying to move in from one of my 3 neighbors.

They attack from behind and each side of my property-going for trash cans, my Gardenia plants & Tangerine tree- where they like to try to farm aphids or scale. I tried everything to get rid of them- now I just spray Orange Guard directly on my Orchid pots & my Tangerine tree trunk & onto other plant's stems. They won't cross the line & it kills fast. I also pour it into ant hills using a funnel & they just disappear! I have used it directly on orchid roots with no change to the plant. I spray early am so it will be dry if the plant gets sun.

The only problem I have with Orange Guard is that I run out. I now buy 2 big refill sizes and make sure I always have some on hand. It is the only insect remover I use now. Buy it!

Customer Review: WORKS ON ROACHES & PALMETTO BUGS!
Summary: 5 Stars

When we moved to Charleston, SC almost two years ago, every neighbor and friend told us to get on a monthly program with a pest control company and have our whole house sprayed with insecticides and pesticides, inside and out. We were told that this was the ONLY way to keep the dreaded palmetto bugs (huge cockroaches that FLY) out of the house. I refused to expose my family to those chemicals and started looking for an alternative way.

I found Orange Guard and unlike our friends who soak their home every month and STILL get the palmetto bugs, we have not had one palmetto bug in our house since I started using Orange Guard. About once a month, I spray around all the plumbing- behind toilets and under sinks and also around the screened porch base and the bottoms of doors. The smell is wonderful, and our house is palmetto bug free and chemical free.
