Beautifully crafted traditional Japanese design tatami floor mats, offered here in 4 sizes, note too that we offer 4 more sizes on Amazon. Durable double weave rush grass stretched onto 2" thick, kiln dried dovetailed hard pine frame, with a Tyvek like material moisture barrier bottom to resist floor level dampness. Use several to cover floors in many configurations, our 36" wide tatamis are available in 3 lengths - 3, 6, and 7 feet long. Use a single mat as simple decorative platform on the floor, raise off the floor with patio blocks or wood blocks, add cushions for an attractive reading or meditation space- put a tatami mat against a wall for a sofa back. Tatami mats are a popular alternative platform bed or futon sofa, right on the floor, or wood slats raised on patio blocks. A tatami mat on it's side behind a platform bed makes a great looking and comfortable head board. A single 38" x 80" works for a twin size mattress, which normally measure 39" x 75, use two 30" x 80" for a standard American queen size mattress, or two 38" x 80" for extra space around the queen mattress, or use two 38" x 80" for exact fit for US king size mattresses or futons.
