These ultrasonic repellers do work. We use them inside our home, in the basement, and in the garage. They not only keep the rodents away, they keep spiders and other insects away as well.
Please, one warning; Do Not buy from Unbeatable Sales Inc. We had a very bad experience with them, and it would be worth your while to purchase the product from another company.

I experienced no further rodent or pest problems after plugging in this device. I found a dead mouse a week later. However, I believe the outcome of my situation involved a combination of using rat poison and proofing my apartment by sealing off or closing open holes that rodents and pest can use to enter. Had a bad mouse problem in our vacation home in the mountains. Tried the smaller electronic units and still saw mouse droppings. Added this on the fire place sill as we thought they were getting in around it. Also started using peppermint oil in areas where we'd seen droppings. Great combination. No activity for 2 months now.

So far this Ultrasonic Pestrepeller seems to be working just fine. I did have problems with mice in my pole building. Since I installed one in the building I have not had any evidence of mice. There is a low level clicking that would be annoying if in a room where you were, but in the pole building there is no problem.
