I was rather hesitant about purchasing this product based on a negative review I read - but I took the gamble and was happy I did. I have the stiff stuff already and was real tired of dealing with it. This hose is a heavier grade dryer hose that is not only easy to use but appears to be a lot more rugged than than it looks. I have replaced all my semi rigid plastic flex hose with this product and it works great, fits in places the other stuff won't and hasn't sprung a leak nor torn yet - even with all the dragging around I do with it to sweep up my shop. While I wouldn't recommend this product for use on a general dust collector installation, you won't find a better product for connecting your equipment to the system.
The soft hose is ideal for hooking up the equipment wherever you put it without having to adjust the equipments location to accomodate a stiff hose. In particular, I used it on a Performax Drum Sander with fantastic results. The ability of this hose to fully collapse allows me to stack the hose in a single compact column on top of the machine when not in use.
You also can't beat the price!

I was concerned when I read a review saying this hose is flimsy. The hose is great for flexible needs. Any stronger and it would not be flexible. And I got a ton of it. I strung a short wire with an S hook on the end into the tube at the overhead dust collector fitting. When I'm done with the tubing, I put my arm into it, the tubing shrinks from 10 feet to 1 foot, I grab the s-hook and hook it to the end of the tubing and the tubing is out of the way.Now if only they made an adapter to fit the tubing to my shop vac accessories !

The dust collection hose functions well on my 1HP dust collector. It is flexible so I can drag it around easily. It does tend to collapse when the pressure drops, but that is not a problem because both ends are fixed to adaptors. I have not experienced any defects. It looks like to be quite strong. I kept the case and actually used it to transport it to another location. I could push it back into this small case with no problem. When expanded, the hose is more than 50 feet long. I have used it, abused it, and it keeps on going. I have a long rigid pipe for my main line on my dust collector, and use the hose for "drops" to tools. I also use a long section of the hose for a "shop vac type" application, dragging the hose around the shop and vacuuming in corners, tight spots, etc... This hose is very flexible, and tough. I recently purchased a second hose for use in my shop, and if I need it later down the road, I will buy a third.
