Description of PUR QTSS Whirlpool Quarter Turn Refrigerator Water Filter
Replaced regularly, PUR water filters reduce contaminants to provide clean, fresh tasting water and ice. This filter fits all refrigerators with a Quarter Turn in-grille water filter, including Whirlpool, KitchenAid, and other Whirlpool manufactured brands. It's compatible with refrigerators that accept part numbers: 4396510, 4396548, 9010, 4396508, 4396547. It reduces:- Cysts and Turbidity - linked to gastrointestinal problems
- Lead
- Chlorine taste and odor for better tasting water
- Sediment for cleaner water
- o-Dichlorobenzene, linked to risk of liver, kidney or circulatory problems
- Benzene, linked to increased risk of cancer and anemia

Customer Review: Makes my tap water taste great!

I purchased this for my Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator as a replacement for Whirlpool filter #4396510/#4396508. I have always used Whirlpool brand filters, but I saw this one by PUR and decided to try it because (a) it fits, and (b) it was cheaper. Imagine my surprise to find, right on the box, "Manufactured by the Whirlpool Corporation."
Results: I really think this filter makes my city tap water taste better than the Whirlpool-branded filter! My city water has a lot of chlorine, and this PUR filter really does eliminate the taste and odor. My water now tastes like nothing. It's just wet and cool and refreshing!
According to the box, this PUR filter also reduces Lead, Chlorine taste and odor, Sediment, p-Dichlorobenzene (associated with liver, kidney, and spleen damage), and Benzene (linked to cancer risk and anemia), not that these are found in everyone's drinking water. This filter does not remove Fluoride from water, which is a beneficial additive. The PUR filter has been tested and certified by the NSF.
This filter fits all refrigerators with a Quarter-Turn, In-Grille filter. I am very happy with the way my water now tastes, and I will definitely be buying this PUR filter over the other brand next time.
