Customer Review: Great Water Filtration System for a Low Price!

I've been using the Pur faucet mount water filtration system for over 10 years, and still love it. It filters out more harmful contaminants than most others on the market. And though one may have to buy a new external housing about every year or two, (I live in a very hard water area in CO), it's still the best deal around. I recommend the horizontal system the most. Fewer moving parts to break or leak over time.
It's easy to mount. Just screw in the right size (enclosed) coupler to your faucet, and twist-tighten the filter onto the faucet.
NOTE: I recommend that for changing filters, buy an inexpensive rubber strap wrench (Sears Craftsman's are great, for as little as $3.99). The filter housing cap is a tight fit, (especially if you don't want any leaking) and using a simple, small, rubber strap wrench to screw and unscrew the cap for filter changes is the easy way to go. It's easy on the filtration system parts, easy on your faucet, and easy on your hands.
If you're a total klutz, like I am some days, ;-) dismount the whole filtration system from the faucet, use the strap wrench to unscrew the filter cap, put in the filter, screw the filter cap back on with the strap wrench for a tight fit, and mount back on to the faucet.
In this day and age, it's nice to have peace of mind that my kitchen water is clean and clear!
