Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dolce 4-Shelf Folding Bookcase - Dark WalnutCustomer Review: FANTASTIC ! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased my first bookcase last Christmas as a gift for my husband...we both fell in love with it! We have purchased bookcases in the past at a much lower price, but after spending several hours putting them together, and the fact that they are nothing but pressed wood and cardboard backs, they are not worth the savings! This one is so simple...take it out of the box and 'open' up the sides - Voila! Your bookcase is ready to load! Just purchased 2 more online this past Monday as our local Target no longer carries these either - what a shame that is! Quick delivery too - had them on my front porch on Thursday! The fact that I purchased them with free shipping was a much appreciated added bonus - saved about $30! Told my husband that eventually we would buy more, as they hold lots of books or other stuff while not taking up a lot of space. I see they still have free shipping, so just may have to do that now - and before they discontinue them online too! They also keep your room looking big and open - you know, you start putting in those cheaper bookcases and all of a sudden your room looks tiny and 'boxed in', if you know what I mean. As for the difference in color - it just adds character! These bookcases are well worth the price! No complaints here!!!!!!
Customer Review: A student's solution to a large collection of books Summary: 5 Stars
I bought two of these bookcases for all of my school books of all sizes, from pocketbooks to oversize books. My experience with these items started on a good note when I found out that they are very light and compact and easy to move; folded up they are only a couple inches deep, so they would easily fit in a closet when not in use. The assembly is quite simple: there is no assembly in the sense we are familiar with, just fold out the sides, fold down the shelves and you're ready to go. The bookcases are very sturdy and strong, so they will hold even my largest books. The rails behind the shelves are great so that my smaller books won't fall behind the bookcase. The only drawback is the spacing between the shelves: I had to stack my oversize books on top of each other, and standard sized binders won't quite fit vertically on the bottom shelves. Overall these bookcases are great for a student and I would buy more of them when my book collection eventually outgrows the two cases I have now.
Customer Review: good for the wanderer Summary: 5 Stars
the dark coffee coloured finish appeals to my gothic sensibilities. the folding design appeals to my transient nature. this bookcase could have been made for me!a couple of points I didn't see otherwise mentioned: --the open top is nice for oversized books. --it does fold up--but it's a bit heavy and awkward. I chipped mine trying to transport it by myself. --if you jam yours full, the open sides will encourage your smaller books to warp. also, it's easy to catch the book covers on the back support frame. however, this will happen if you're as careless with your books as I am. I wish they made the same model, only taller. I wish they made a crown top for them, like some folding bookcases have. that would be cool. we've had ours for a couple of years. they're packed to the gills and holding up great. they look pretty nice (they'd look nicer if I didn't fill them so full.) a good purchase.
Customer Review: Stylish, handsome -- and no assembly required! Summary: 5 Stars
Battered and weary from having assembled way too much cheap particleboard furniture over the course of a lifetime, I searched the Net for affordable, well made, decent looking bookcases. I found these and took a chance.Even with standard shipping, I had my bookcases within 72 hours...and opened the boxes to find the bookcases simply wonderful, with no assembly required! You just stand them up against the wall at a 70-degree angle, prop the sides into place and let the shelves fall into place. I'm not sure which I like better, their no-assembly ease or their tasteful good looks. (Made in Thailand, they really do look like they came from Pottery Barn or Pier One.) Buyers with crawling kids or inquisitive toddlers should probably secure the bookcases to the wall for safety, but that's true of all free-standing bookcases. Nice furniture, fast and cheap -- with no assembly required...imagine that!
Customer Review: good piece, good experience Summary: 5 Stars
Redecorating my bedroom was my recent project and I had NO furniture. I chose this bookcase because of my limited budget, the dark finish (which I love) and the fact I needed shelving. I never saw it in the store, just surffed the website. I was still very pleased. There is NO assembly since it folds right out of the box. VERY pleased with that. My piece came with no defects and no shipping midhaps. It also holds everything I put on it (lots of books and some cosmetic stuff) and stays sturdy. Be careful while loading it up, though, because it is light and is not very sturdy on it's own. Once you put stuff on it to anchor it, it seems fine. BTW, mine stand on carpet, not hardwood. It still stands sturdy. For me, it was a great buy. I reccomend it.
