There is no way this set ever sold for $109.00! It is worth the actual selling price on Amazon, but please, let's not try to fool people Amazon. I would like to see an actual sales receipt where somebody did buy these ANYWHERE for $109.00 because I know that if I did, they would have been promptly returned.
Anyway, with that said, I have had mine since xmas 2008, and so far so good. They are fairly thick and fluffy, but they seem to be disproportionally sized. The washcloth is almost as large as the hand towel. I believe the bath towel to be the standard 54" although I have not actually measured it, and Amazon was lacking in giving any dimensions, so I had to take a chance. But overall, worth the "sale" price, and nice selection of colors as well.

The price was excellent, that is if the towels were the thick, plush towels I had expected. They were O.K. and the price was still a good price. Probably wouldn't buy again, only because I expected a lot higher quality. I was looking for GREAT towels at great price and got good towels for a good price.
I'm probably just spoiled.

I purchased these towels during Amazon's black friday sale this year. You don't have much time to research the items before you have to buy them so I figured that I would check out the reviews later. When I finally got a chance to check them out I was a little disappointed with what I was reading; older reviews were good and the more recent ones were terrible- for the most part. So I braced myself for their arrival. When they came, a few days later, I went over them with a fine toothed comb (so to speak)cut any loose threads, and inspected all of the sewn edges. I ordered 2 "sets" so I actually got 4 of each size and out of 12 towels I only found 1 that needed major repair so I just fired up the sewing machine and zipped down the side.
After being washed I found that there were a couple of spots along the edges that I thought were sewn well and were not because they frayed in the wash but all in all I was pretty impressed with how they washed up- especially after reading what other reviewers said.
As for being absorbant, well, not so much! After showering I always wrap a towel around my hair (I have shoulder length hair). Normally the towel absorbs a good amount of the excess water so when I blow-dry it isn't dripping wet still. After having one of the towels on my head for about 10 minutes, my hair was still dripping wet when I took it off.
I definitely would have given these towels a lower rating if I hadn't paid so little for them. The original advertised price was about $50. If I would have paid that much they would have been on their way back but I only paid about $17 per "set" (6 pcs). I think I got what I paid for, for the most part.
