I have used flannel sheets for many years. Not just in the winter, but summer,too. In the summer flannel sheets keep the damp and clammy feeling at bay. I washed them, two sets of the same color and size,getting a large lint filter full of fuzz.
I hope that this does not keep occuring. The sheets fit very well. Our beds have the pillow top, plus a tempur pedic foam overlay. The fit is great and do not pop off the mattress like most of my others. It will be interesting to see how long these sets last before getting holes in them or thread bare. For now, I really love them. Don't understand the price difference based on color you chose. The color I got,Cream is a yellowish tan, just like the chamois you get for your car. Maybe more like a butternut color. Anyway I love the feel and sleeping quality of these particular flannel sheets.
