Tools and Hardware Reviews of Plastair SpringJet PUJ250B93OT-AMZ 50-Foot 1/4-Inch Polyurethane Coil Hose and Wand Set - BlueCustomer Review: Convenient, but a couple quirks Summary: 3 Stars
This is a very nice product for its intended use (albeit one that is rather similar to many others marketed elsewhere). However, please bear in mind a couple of subtleties that may not be obvious from the item description:(1) The length of the hose is measured at its theoretically full extension. However, the hose never actually reaches this full extension because of elastic resistance (i.e. the very same "spring" effect which is the reason you presumably bought the hose) and torsion along the length of the hose as it is stretched. My experience is that you lose approximately 25% of the hose's length to these two effects. The only way to beat this is by making sure that the hose's rated length is that much LONGER than you need. (2) Make sure that you have the appropriate adapter permitting you to attach the hose to your faucet. Designer faucets, faucets with hose attachments, imported faucets, and outdoor faucets all may have trouble working with this hose out of the box.
Customer Review: Works well, once you get it connected... Summary: 3 Stars
Once you get the SpringJet connected to your faucet, it works fine. The challenge is connecting it to your faucet. And, you face these challenges each time you use it!
First, you connect the plastic adapter to the faucet, and you must be careful to avoid damaging it by cross-threading it. Second, you must tighten all the connections enough to avoid leaks. This requires quite a bit of tightening to accomplish. Third, even when you've tightened it enough to stop the leaks, the water pressure will sometimes pop the hose from connector, spraying water everywhere. And, it's difficult to re-assemble.
You'll get used to the assembly process after you use it a few times, but better instructions would have shortened the learning process.
Customer Review: Ocean Blue Summary: 3 Stars
At first it appeared to be the same as a spray hose we bought years ago.
The sprayer was not as well made and the hose fittings were made of plastic. So inorder to get a working sprayer hose (which my wife uses from her wheelchair to water plants on our deck) I took the best pieces from the broken one and pieces from the new one to make one usable product. This just show that you don't always know what the quality of a product you buy sight unseen over the internet.
Customer Review: quality good, connection not so Summary: 3 Stars
The hose is good quality, made in Canada, but if your kitchen sink has a combo faucet/spray, the garden hose threads match, rather than are smaller or larger than your sink threads, resulting in not having an adapter that works - in short, I'm unable to use this product.
Customer Review: ended up needing adaptors to get this working Summary: 2 Stars
Ok, I live in a very very small condo. I have a end / ground floor unit so I have quite a bit of planting space and a fairly large patio. For months I had been lugging pails of water back and forth. Not having access to an outdoor spigot I needed a hose that could attach to a indoor sink and I wanted it to stow away in a small space. I ordered this hose set up from amazon. It came in a very worn box with no packing or instrucions. As a another reviewer stated this hose may NOT work out of the box with some faucets. That was my problem ... I had to purchase an adaptor ($$$) to get a threaded faucet end. Sadly, I had to purchase yet another adpater($$$) to get the right combo of female/male (?) end...and finally I have a working hose. Thats works just ok and does not have great water pressure nor reaches 50 feet.Another problem the "wand" with use keeps popping off. You can fix this by turning off the water and then reattaching it and then tighting it... a lot of work with this hose .After two weeks of daily use it also has devloped a small leak at the wand to hose part .I also have a mess of adapters on my faucet (UGGH!) My advice check out local stores and check your faucet BEFORE ordering this item!
