Tools and Hardware Reviews of Polder Duo Shower Curtain Rod,Brushed Stainless SteelCustomer Review: Dual use shower rod Summary: 4 Stars
We have used this for about a month and it is great when you have a bathroom that doesn't have room for enough towel racks. We are happy with it and I would recommend it. However, installation is definitely a two-person job. My husband is very good at doing things around the house, but it took the two of us to put it up. It is not difficult, it just takes a person on each end.
Customer Review: Great Design Limited Quality Summary: 4 Stars
I like the design. I have a small bathroom it's difficult to find space for towel bars for my towels to dry successfully. That may be part of the reason that after 3 years I've noticed rust on the bar closest to the shower. I just plan to spray paint it and go on.
Customer Review: this is not a pogo stick! Summary: 4 Stars
Looks just like the picture. Easy to install unless you over extend the rod. Very functional but not as a pogo stick.
Customer Review: Like it, but.... Summary: 3 Stars
As other users indicated, this rod has a funky(read cheap) method to tighten the rods into position. Do your best to tighten the bars symetrically and DONT OVER TIGHTEN, you'll strip it.
Basically you can only install this once and you better be careful. Why they recommend two people.
They would have been better off with a spring in the rods and a screwed in end plate, or at least the option. Or better, for the money, true threaded rods, then this item would be top notch
It works and looks great once and if you get it installed, luv it. No rust with two years of service.
But if you need to remove it, which is hard to do. Basically have to try to knock it out and then force it back in to re-install (because the metal gets stripped, well, you'll see). It is basically not a reusable item.
That said, if I did need to remove and it would not re-install, I'd think about getting another because no one out there seems to have anything close. I'd pay $100 for a thread version of this. It would last a life time. (My parents still use similar items from the 60's that are threaded)
Customer Review: Worked -- but Summary: 3 Stars
Got the double rods because I have no towel racks in the bath. Worked wonderfully -- when we finally wrestled it in place. Took two people. BUT last week in came crashing down. Why?? Don't know. Was a beast to get up and seemed to be permanently in place. AND on top of it all it took off the finish of my Re-Bath tile where it pressed into it. I'm going to have to buy another rod (I know, I threw away the mounting package on the first one) and drill it into the wall. Maybe I should just get two rods and make it easy on myself.
