I found the Sweater Stone to work well for removing pills from my wool sweaters. I was hesitant to buy one of the shavers after hearing stories about holes in garments. The Sweater Stone is gentle on my good sweaters, and it's easy to remove the pills. I didn't find it messy at all. It works exactly as described.Customer Review: Surprisingly effective.

I was pleasantly surprised at how effective this product is. It takes some dilligence, but I have saved several sweaters that I thought were hopelessly pilled and worn looking. I never had used a sweater shaver but upon checking reviews decided I didn't want to. Had never heard of a sweater stone but decided to try it based on the good reviews. Does work pretty well. Is messy but I'm fairly pleased.
