I have several of these hoists (8) and most from other manufacturer. This RAD hoist is the best! The rope is thicker, so it doesn't slide from pulleys that often and metal on hooks is stronger too.
The only problem is that plastic tubes on hooks slip of easily.

I have two Recumbent bikes that I wanted to suspend in my garage, for more floor space.
These baby's did the trick. I had to mount them directly to the rafters, there is no sheetrock and had to mount them on each side of the cieling pitch. No problems at all!

You will pay 3-4 times as much for a similar rack from The Container Store or $5-10 more at [...]
The rack actually will hold 100lbs (per the statement on the box) and I use it to hoist up my heavy hybrid with child carrier attached.

this bicycle hoist works well.
I used the center holes for the screw to
screw to the joist. Though I don't think
those holes were intended for the screw.
I don't think screwing into the sheetrock
is adequate

Great product. Does exactly what it is suppose to. My only complaint is the heads on the phillips screws strip easily and I wish the brackets that cradle the bar and seat had a bit more curve at the tips. Easy fix. Teather them together.
