This product works as advertised. I bought 3 of them, one for my wife and 2 boys. While the LED light is bright for the person reading it is narrowly focused and does not flood the room. I can easily fall asleep facing towards or away from the light. I almost always fall asleep within 5 minutes of hitting the pillow though :-) The beanbag bottom makes positioning the light pretty easy and comfortable. The only gripe I have with this product is the battery compartment. It must be removed from the light before you can change the batteries and it can be a little awkward for people with thicker fingers. There is not much space on either side of the battery compartment to grip it. That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Not a deal breaker for us though.Customer Review: Excellent--for the price

Factoring in the price, I could give 5 stars. --But it does have 2 problems which cause me to use a different book light half the time:
(1) There is a bright lavender "hot spot" in the center of the beam, requiring constant adjustment to keep off the part of the page I am trying to read. The rest of the beam gives a balaced spectrum.
(2) It has a lot of "overspray", lighting up the entire room to an impressive degree for 2 LED's. I can use it only when my wife is deep asleep.
