Dear Future Customer:
This Raovac lantern provides more than adequate light for its size with the lens on or off. It is well constructed and weather proofed from the elements.
Negative comments are the installation of the "D" cell batteries and constant blinking light which eventually will kill the batteries.
If a better method of installing the batteries was upgraded with a battery check meter, the lantern would get a 5 shining star rating.
