We live in an earthquake zone, so this product is as necessary as a strap around a water heater. It's amazing to me how many of my neighbors don't even think about securing their flat screen TVs. Even if you don't live in an earthquake zone, this product is great for insuring table top or wall flat screens won't fall over on a table or from the wall. The same week I purchased a new flat screen TV, I experienced a small quake (in California) that got me to thinking about TV safety. Purchased the TV Safety Straps and put them on right away. I'm so happy that I did as several days later, I experienced not one but two stronger quakes. My neighbors' TV toppled over and broke. Mine is safe.
