If you need breathing protection many hours a day, there are probably other solutions available. BUT if you, like me require maximum protection turning, sanding or routing TOXIC woods, you need this protection.
TOXIC WOOD... Really. A list of the most common are shown below. I bought this mask after I had bed respiratory complications of my existing seasonal allergies.
Used while woodturning pens from TOXIC woods in my workshop. Yes many common woods are toxic to varying degrees. Below is a chart and information source for that information.
