Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rowenta DA-35 Latitude 35 Compact Iron with Dual Voltage for TravelCustomer Review: All Around Winner! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the fourth Rowenta iron/steamer I have owned in the past 20 years, and I find the quality of the German made irons superior to anything on the market today.
This iron was purchased specifically to take to sewing and quilting classes, along with occasional trips and vacation.
Its compact size fits is great when packing into my class bag or into my suitcase and comes with its own travel case and dual voltage adapters. The Latitude heats up quickly in under a minute, and with it's compact sole size is excellent in getting into corners and pressing small pieces with ease. The burst of steam is nearly as good as the professional series irons. It holds a reasonable amount of water in relationship to its size.
For the occasional presser or someone who can't handle the weight of a larger iron this iron may work for you. This little travel iron is very lightweight in comparison to the larger Powerguide Pro I own. However don't let its size fool you-- it keeps up with the big irons in ease of use-- but ironing isn't as easy if you have loads of shirts to do as the Powerguide Pro does.
The only word of warning has to do with water quality. We live in very hard water territory-- so we use bottled water in all our Rowenta pressing products. However many times this is not enough, and we can and do delime/descale our steamers and irons regularly.
