Customer Review: Surprisingly effective with Rowenta Quality!

I bought this travel iron for a recent trip where I knew I'd need to press some clothes for appropriate business attire, but didn't have any assurance that where I'd be staying would have an iron to use. The price was reasonable and the size is completely appropriate for travel. I've owned Rowenta irons before and they tend to be good work horses, but prior to using this little iron I wasn't sure what to expect.
To my surprise, it worked fantastic. The handle folds in for easy transport and both it and the included filling cup fit nicely in the black travel bag. Filling the iron is easy and it stands well as it heats up. I was surprised at how fast it heated up and how well it maintained the heat. Pressing my clothes was easy and done in a flash. I have not yet used it on completely synthetic fabrics, but it made fast work on my cotton and cotton/poly blends. In fact, I'd even go as far to say that it out performed the conventional standard iron I have at home!
For such a little iron, it has a good solid feel to it without adding too much to your luggage weight.
I'd definitely recommend it for anyone considering a travel iron. Good luck!

A nice little travel iron like this one should be in every road warrior's arsenal - especially if you travel internationally.
I travel a lot for business and mostly internationally in Latin America, visiting customers where suit, tie and a well ironed shirt are a requirement. I usually travel with a carry on and it's a rare trip that after multiple security checks and lugging the bag around that my shirt(s) don't get wrinkled. Some hotels in some countries I visit simply do not offer irons in rooms or they may not work or stain my shirt with rusty/black water. And ironing services are not always available in the timeframe I need.
This little iron fits nicely in my carry on and does not add much space or weight. And it will work with any of the line voltages I'll find in my room in any country. (you will want to check which voltage is offered and set the iron for the correct voltage)
At the end of the day, its value is peace of mind and time saved when I need to quickly touch up a shirt. Am happy with this purchase.

This is a great travel iron. I bought it for a recent cruise/tour of Europe, and was very happy I had it. The cruiseline provided one iron per deck in the public laundry room -- not good when it's time to get ready for a dinner in required formal attire that was in a suitcase for a flight all the way across the Atlantic Ocean!
The steam function works very well, but I am confused by the instructions for using it as a vertical steamer. I never have been able to get that part working properly without water leaking. But as a steam iron, it is superb -- it performs equal to my full sized home Rowenta.
Before going on my trip, I used this iron a couple of times for my regular ironing (to get used to it), and I could see how this iron would work as an only iron for someone who doesn't iron that often, is a college student, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this iron for the constant business traveler, as it really does do a great job.

I travel quite a bit with my fiance and we always had wrinkled clothes after my poor packing job in our suitcase. I decided to get this travel iron to help and I have not been disappointed!This iron is tiny (weighs I think 1.7 pounds) and works extremely well! It heats up just as well as my at home iron! One of the other great features is the vertical steamer, which works extremely well too. It is very portable, especially since the handle folds to lie flat. It comes in a nice travel pouch as well.
The cost is extremely reasonable too, especially if it shows up in your gold box! With free shipping its a real bargin. I highly recommend this iron, you will not be disappointed!

As a veteran hotel jockey, I try to unfold our suitcase to find a travel mess with our clothing. The travel inon from Rowenta has been not only a travel saver, but a business saver.We look as great as (or at least our clothes) possible. The multi-function of the steam is the best we have encountered. An added bonus, was is the free shipping with a purchase over [money] with Amazon.com. A truly winning combination. We could not sing enough praise about this product. It even looks great! The price at Amazon is even the best we have found. A travel jockey must!
