Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rowenta DZ5080 Focus Stainless-Steel 1700-Watt Iron

Customer Review: Rowenta Focus = Booya
Summary: 5 Stars

As a younger gentleman I have a natural antipathy towards ironing, it represents a great source of consternation in my otherwise insouciant life. So when my oldschool Rowenta Prolix broke, I took the auspicious opportunity to upgrade my piece, as I spend a wholly inordinate amount of time ironing for the workplace these days.

Also, as a testament of how moved I have been by this purchase, we'll reiterate the fact that I am a younger gentleman, who generally doesn't write reviews for irons. To keep it succinct, the Rowenta Focus with it's 1700 Watts of alternating current power is mindblowing. This piece eats wrinkles like Rosie O'donnell eats cupcakes, with a voracious appetite for ever-smoothing your most wrinkled attire.

Enjoy the German craftsmanship and buy this piece!!

Customer Review: No more starch!
Summary: 5 Stars

I had a Black and Decker iron for many years. When it gave up the ghost, I wasted my money on three different irons that didn't come close to the results I got with my B&D. I saw the presentation for the Rowenta on television, and was still full of doubts. I put my skepticism aside and decided to give this steam iron a try. I am not sorry I did. This iron doesn't live up to my former B&Ds performance, it far surpasses it. I haven't used starch since I purchased this iron. I don't need it. A lot of our clothing is made of 100% cotton. Sometimes using the iron alone doesn't flatten the wrinkle. In those times, I keep a spray bottle next to me, and that combined with the steam function, will flatten it every time. I am extremely satisfied with this iron and have recommended it to many people. It is well worth the money.

Customer Review: Rowenta Focus Iron
Summary: 5 Stars

In both expert and consumer reviews, the Rowenta Focus beats other irons when it comes to superior steam output. The downside is its heavy weight of nearly five pounds when full of water. The trick behind its superior steam distribution is its series of 400 tiny steam holes (most irons have about twenty large holes). The Rowenta Focus has vertical steam, burst of steam, an auto shut-off and an anti-calcium feature.

Sure enough as I ironed at home I noticed quite an improvement in using a Rowenta. Shorter amount of time is needed to get excellent results. The amount of steam you want to "emit" both vertically and horizontally is adjustable.

Buying a Rowenta iron is an investment; I truly believe this iron will last me for years and years. It is definitely a quality product.

Customer Review: Great iron, great value
Summary: 5 Stars

This iron typically retails for $100+ at department stores, but Amazon sells it at a good price. Overall, a great iron. So here's what I like and not like about the iron:

PROs: Wide ironing area, pointed tip to iron around more easily around buttons, generates a good deal of steam that is distriubted through the 400 holes on the bottom of the iron, regular water can be used for the reservoir, good heavy weight.

CONs: Uses up water in the reservoir quickly, although that is expected considering the amount of steam it generates. Some people may fuss about the weight, but I think it's necessary in order to press a shirt properly. Also uses 1700W of power. The more $ the iron, the higher the wattage, so it goes.

I haven't had any leaking issues with it.

Customer Review: So far....very good!
Summary: 5 Stars

I knew that I wanted to purchase a Rowenta iron, but wasn't sure which one to order. The reviews on Amazon helped me pick the Focus model.
I must say, so far it is performing very well. I iron everyday and sometimes go for marathon ironing! Though I've only had it for a month, this is the BEST iron that I have ever had (and I've gone through at least six or seven in the last twenty years). I especially love the elongated slender tip of the iron that fits in between buttons and on collars of shirts. The steam is wonderful and it gets out wrinkles quickly. The stainless surface glides over the clothes. I hope that it lasts for a long time. If it doesn't, you'll be hearing from me:)
