Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rowenta DZ9080 Advancer IronCustomer Review: Fab Iron Summary: 5 Stars
Ditto on much of the reviews I have read here. Ironing is a lot easier and this iron does a great job. I have only had it for a few weeks now. The water tank depletes pretty quickly but that's because I have it set to use tons of steam (which it delivers). It is not true that this model does not spritz out water.
Some have chalked the water spritzing up to using distilled water. I use regular Los Angeles tap water and it has spritzed water in the steam setting a few times. But this happens very infrequently unlike other irons I've owned. Highly recommend this.
Funny thing is that every time I said we got a new awesome iron, everyone said, "Is it a Rowenta" with a knowing look on their face.
One year on. Still works awesome. There have been a few issues with mineral deposits on the bottom. But, very easy to clean by simple wipe off. Still using tap water. I do run through clean cycle because its internal filter is not full proof. Deposits do come out on occasion. Again, not nearly as frequently as other irons I've owned. I've learned that there is no magic filter that removes deposits 100% of the time. I do love using the steam function to do quick touch ups on suit pants and jackets while they are on the hanger without having to break out the ironing board. Ironing jeans and linen is very easy with the copious steam it produces. It's hard not to be OCD with this iron. It works so well that a tiny wrinkle in fabric must be removed because you have the perfect tool to accomplish this. I highly recommend.
Customer Review: Hands down...best ever steam iron!! A+++ Summary: 5 Stars
I would usually never consider spending this much on an iron. But since our last two irons (supposedly good brands) broke down on us within a year, I gave in and purchased this iron based on the rave reviews.
I'm not one to be excited over an iron, but this iron gives much to be excited about! First, my iron heats up in literally 5-10 seconds. Wow, super fast! Next, this is one solid iron, and it feels good in your hand. It may seem heavy at first, but it's so evenly balanced that the weight doesn't deter. In fact, it helps to press the clothes even better. The iron glides effortlessly over my clothes and doesn't snag. And don't get me started about the steam. Those 400+ steam holes do their job 10x's over. I love it! My ironing time has been cut in half because this iron does such an EXCELLENT job.
The first time I used the iron, I tested it on my heavy denim jacket that's been sitting in my closet for months that I refused to wear because my other iron couldn't get rid of the wrinkles. This iron tackled it in no time flat - pressing out those stubborn wrinkles like nothing. It was like I first bought it new. It did such a great job on that, I decided to test it out on another piece of clothing with even more stubborn wrinkles, and no problem there either. SOLD! I actually enjoy ironing now. Read the instructions carefully and use as directed. I can't say enough about it. I love my DZ9080. Rowenta irons are now the ONLY brand of iron I will purchase from now on. Why did I never buy this brand sooner?
Customer Review: Best iron I have ever used Summary: 5 Stars
I would give this iron six stars if I could.
The iron heats up very quickly and yet seems to work fine on my 15 amp circuit with 40 year old wiring. I have never had an iron heat up this quickly.
The adjustment is not too difficult to reach, but it is under the handle, so you must work at it a bit. This is very easy to read and it indicates when the temperature is ready and what it is doing using very large easy to see from across the room indicators. No guessing.
Lets talk about steam. WOW, did I mention WOW. Nothing has ever produced this much great steam. I am AMAZED! I can control how much and what kind of steam I want. Just be certain to read the instructions, really, you should read them. This iron uses steam to clean those steam holes and you do not want to say "hey, I wonder what this setting does?" and then blow a load of hot steam. Not likely to do in an unsafe way, but you really want to expect it before you do it.
This is a heavy iron and that heft helps while ironing. it does most of the work for you. There is, however, the fact that this iron is heavier. I am considering one of their ironing boards with a special place for the iron rather than the cheap board that I have.
This iron does such a good job, that the time is almost cut in half from any other iron (except for a professional press that I used to use).
Customer Review: My husband says this iron looks like a space-ship! Summary: 5 Stars
After doing a lot of comparison research, I am totally satisfied with my purchase. It is well worth the extra money for the steam features and platinum sole plate. The tip of the iron blasts steam into hard to reach areas of the collar, sleeves, etc. making wrinkle removal a cinch. My cotton clothing is so crisp, it looks brand new. Never have my clothes looked so professionally ironed. I thought all irons were created equal. I am delightfully surprised that they are not. The large heel plate keeps the iron steady and secure when it is in the resting position (and it looks like it is ready for take-off!) Actually, it almost does take-off when I push the blast of steam button. Poof! It almost lifts off of the ironing board. And bamm, the wrinkles are gone! Honest, I'm not lying. Never before have I used all of the water in an iron during one pressing session. This one uses that much steam. I now look around in my closet for previously pressed items that I can re-iron with this keen mean ironing machine! My old iron failed because the cord from the flexing back and forth motion, was arching. This iron has a ball-cone where the cord comes out, so it rotates instead of flexing back and forth. It is fun to use. Get this model, it does everything and more than you could hope for. Now, if it could only remove wrinkles from my body.....ha ha.
Customer Review: Professional Quality Iron Summary: 5 Stars
I have always owned Philips irons and been very satisfied with them until I moved to States. I haven't found this brand through iron products. So I chose Rowenta Advancer Iron... and despite of all negative reviews have a good experience with it.
I still use it for approximately 4 months. It matches all my criteria of professional ironing:
1. It has the wide non-stick (stainless steel) soleplate and the narrow tip which reaches every seam and corner;
2. It is heavy enough to make pressing fabric easy;
3. I love its microsteam holes system which is great to make tough wrinkles vanish and iron linen clothes;
4. Maintaining the correct temperature system really works with different fabrics;
5. It also has the electronic control, the automatic safety shut off, vertical steam function and other awesome features which make ironing easier, fast and more efficient.
It is worth to spend the extra money for one of the best irons. I would definitely recommend this iron especially for those ones who don't like ironing at all.
P.S. The Amazon delivery was earlier than I expected. So it's got a plus too.
