Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rowenta DZ9080 Advancer IronCustomer Review: Great Iron Summary: 5 Stars
My rowenta that I had for 9 years and I just loved is gone. It's still working..... just not at my house. I got a call from my daughter to help press out some drapery lining that she was hanging. I grabbed the old rowenta and out the door I flew. Her iron was never plugged in. (My first clue). I hurried home to get my dinner started....but in my haste I had forgotten "my" iron. I called for it. She whined well you know what happened. I ordered a new one. I love the new one even more. WOW that thing seams a killer crease in my husbands pants. I just glides across everything. Now I am glad I let her have the old one. What performance. Now I need to have someone borrow my ironing board so I will have an excuse to get a rowenta one. I have been eyeing it since I got the iron. Update.... one year 12-2007 Still going strong after a year of use.
Customer Review: Excellent iron Summary: 5 Stars
I've owned this iron for a month now. I've been a seamstress for many years, and have exacting requirements for an iron. I'm very pleased with this one. Had no problems; it worked out of the box, and didn't leak, smoke, or drip as other reviewers have cautioned. It puts out lots of steam, gets very hot at the uppermost settings. The weight is good - it makes pressing much easier. I do have arthritis, but the weight is not too much for me even over long periods of use. I like the heat control warnings. I hadn't had a iron with them before, and I didn't think they would be very useful. But, I find that, when working with different fabrics, it's great to know when the iron has cooled enough to be safe to use on a more delicate one. I have nothing negative to say about this iron and recommend it unconditionally.
Customer Review: Worth the money! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my husband since the sunbeam iron we had started leaking all over the place. I spent the money to go with the advancer over the other rowenta's because of the reviews. I think it was worth it. My husband loves it, says it's a great weight, and can even get the job done faster. Oh, he also loves the fact that he can get between the buttons so much easier because of the shape. The only con - we tripped a circuit breaker when we had our electrive stove, tv, lights, and the iron on at the same time. We turned off the electrive stove and then switched the iron on again and it was fine. Haven't looked at how much power it takes but you know what...we'd get it again... Now, ask me in a year and I might tell you otherwise though I hope not.
Customer Review: Love it Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best iron i have ever owned. I have had Rowenta irons before but this one is the fastest and easiest to use. It has weight to it and I like that. It makes for easy crease removal without any extra weight from my hand. The steam is misty and no blobs of water on clothing. I think the temperature settings are adequate and good for the type of material it is listed for. I like the automatic shut off, I do forget to turn it off at times. Have not found anything I don't like yet. It is pricey but i think i will be satisfied with this iron for many years. All the Rowenta irons that i have had have lasted many years. I keep giving them to my kids as they move out and i purchase new ones, that is why I purchased this one.
Customer Review: Professional Results Summary: 5 Stars
We iron regularly and appreciated our first Rowenta iron, definitely getting our moneys worth out of it. It actually got hot enough to accomplish the task without having to wear yourself out by using pressure as required by most cheaper irons today, but it dripped water on the clothes being ironed. As soon as it quit working, we looked into a new Rowenta and through reviews found that leakage problems had been answered with the new Rowenta DZ9080 Advancer, along with added steam power. We don't see ironing as fun or exciting but this does take some of the drudgery out of it. You truly can get professional results with the Rowenta Advancer.
