So far so good. Best iron I've ever used. Much better than a lower priced Rowenta I was using that went bad on me. If this model holds up for the long haul, it's money well spent...
Well, just like other reviewers, it went bad on me. At least it lasted approximately 2 years. It was the auto shut off device that pooped the bed. I replaced it with the Rowenta Professional iron -- the model without auto shut-of. Rowenta really needs to improve the reliability of their electronic components.

I am one of those crazy people who loves to iron just to see the great results. This Rowenta iron is awesome!! It makes the job of ironing faster and easier. I previously owned a less expensive Rowenta, but this one is much better. The job of ironing has been cut in half and I use much less spray starch--if any. It takes only one or two passes and the wrinkles are gone. It is worth it to spend the extra money to make ironing easier and more efficient. I have always purchased Rowenta irons in the past and if not for constantlty dropping them I would still have my old one.
The iron itself is just the right weight and is well balanced. The over 400 micro steam holes, the high pressure steam feature combined with the steam tip and the platinum coated ironing surface literally will cut your ironing time in half!
This latest purchase I plan to take better care of for the DZ9080 almost makes you look forward to ironing!

This is my SECOND Rowenta Advancer iron. It is about my 5th Rowenta iron in the past 20 years. There is just no better iron on this planet. I wouldn't have had to buy this new Advancer if I hadn't knocked my other one off of the ironing board and onto my slate (stone) floor, smashing it into a zillion pieces. My fault...completely!! When my old Rowenta wouldn't go any more miles, I didn't hesitate shopping for a new one. I upgraded to this - and I'm so glad! The 1800 watts make it quite a work horse. Love the even steam . .and plenty of it. By the time I received it (free shipping does not mean fast - oh well), I had almost 2 weeks of ironing. But with this iron I was amazed at how quickly I got all caught up. Even heavy denim was a breeze. Don't be put off by a little more $ - it is SO worth it!
