We received a Rowenta Pressure Iron & Steamer as a wedding gift. The iron is great, but with our previous ironing board, we had to place it on the floor. This board is perfect, because the Steamer fits perfectly into the steel tray on the side of the board. I like that the board is so wide, and you can hang clothes from the steel tray as well. There is a rack underneath, which is useful if you fold your clothes after you iron them.
I would say this is a must-have if you own the Rowenta Steamer. If you just have a regular iron, I probably would not deem it necessary to own this (due to the high price).

Excellent ironing board - well worth the investment, because it will last longer than many other investments. The reviews here on Amazon are spot on - it's wide and allows you to easily move clothing around to get a good ironing surface. The iron holder is flexible enough to adjust to your iron's shape, but still solid. It is heavy - but not difficult to handle. Comes with it's own 3 layer cover. This ironing board is like the one my mother bought back in the 1960's in terms of solid construction - but with the advanced features and ergonomics of the 21st century. I wish that I had purchased this nice ironing board years ago. It is sturdy, doesn't wobble, well made and worth the purchase price. I purchased this ironing board from www.amazon.com and was so pleased with the efficiency and swiftness of the delivery. If you do a lot of ironing, I do recommend this product. It is nice, however, if you have a place where you can leave it up and not have to take it up and down. But a lighter weight ironing board is not going to perform like this one does. The surface is larger than some which makes ironing a garment a little quicker as you can cover a larger area at the time.Customer Review: Strong and stable

I read all the reviews here and while I was a little concerned over damage in transit that some had mentioned, my ironing board arrived in excellent shape. The board is very wide, which I wanted, and it is very stable. I had an old cheapie before this one that wobbled--not this one! I knit sweaters and needed a wide board to pin the pieces on in order to block them before sewing them together. This Rowenta IB-6200 will certainly do every thing I want it to do. I like the iron resting plate which allows me to use ALL of the board. A very good purchase and one that should last the rest of my life.Customer Review: it doesn't SQUEAK!

for years i have been using cheap ironing boards. I hated the way they wobbled around and squeaked when i used them. my mate didn't like having a very hot, heavy iron perched on top of an unstable surface, where a cat or a passing sleeve could send it tumbling. my new ironing board makes us both a lot happier. it is very solid (no wobbles, no odd noises) and the iron cradle makes it nearly impossible for the iron to be knocked off. AND the superior design of the ironing surface makes the ironing faster (or maybe it just seems that way without the annoying squeaks!)
